LOTUS 31
I am really struggling to identify the differences between a Lotus 31 chassis and a Lotus 51 chassis. (Not a 51a, b, or c - simply an early 51)
I am aware that a later batch of 31's (with chassis plates 22/F3/...) were produced to a reduced specification for MRS and JRRS. Were these indeed 'new' chassis labelled as a '22' to allow them to race, or were they rebuilds of older genuine 22's? How would I identify one of these, particularly when the car I have, has been 'dressed up' to look like a 22 - which it is clearly not. (I can identify a 22 easily). My chassis has no plate, but has AM61 in the usual location. All assistance, and photos in particular welcome. I will post my chassis photos when I have time. |

Just noticed your old post back to 2010. Still have the car???????? I recently purchased a 31 here in the U S. I have some history. Maybe we can share.
