Worse still, they had Bruno and Karun name the engines and Bruno named his after his girl friend, who said she was blushing and hoped she would bring him luck...

To not to say that Embratel and Banco Cruzeiro do Sul, whose stickers are in the car, could disappear in case Bruno leaves the team.

Bruno should have stuck with LMP. At least he'd have had a top line front running Peugeot 908 at Le Mans... THAT could have added some glitter to his name. Not just the surname!
There are benchmark names in the other cars, and he could have been compared directly by being in the SAME car with the likes of Panis. |

Of all the names a driver would feel the most pressure with, surely only 3 of the last 30 years would be a burden. Villeneuve, Senna and Schumacher (M). Villeneuve, although carrying his fathers legacy, really didn't have a huge amount to live up to. Gilles, whilst a legend, only won 6 times. Therefore, to better his record wouldn't be difficult. Everyone knew he'd never match the memories. If Schumacher's son ever decides to go racing, again he will have a huge legacy behind his name to aspire to. But the name Senna is part legend, part mythology. He cursed his nephew when he said "if you think I'm good..." The people who idolise him, don't want his legacy tainted by a poor copy. No matter the bloodline, Senna's image has transcended F1. In a lot of ways, Senna is F1's Elvis. Senna turned down a paid F3 drive by Mclaren because he wanted control of his destiny. With Bruno, the impression is, everyone wants to get him into F1 because of the name. Berger took an interest because of his friendship with his uncle. Brawn, or rather Honda, took an interest because of his Honda legacy. Who knows, for you fantasists out there, maybe Bruno will replace Trulli at Lotus... |

I think Christian would show Yamamoto a Klien pair of heels.

Insultingly for Bruno it would seem he was only told on the Thursday late afternoon / evening and they havent removed his name from tyre warmers/garage walling. There will be discussions later on today between Bruno, his manager and Hispania. Also for those who like to know without Kolles Hispania wouldnt be able to make pitstops because Kolles owns all the pit equipment!!

We are back to that famous chicken and its egg. A well known name will attract sponsors but they will quickly lose interest with poor results. Without funding a team can't progress but to get further up the grid in F1 is not simply a matter of buying the right equipment, there is a technical edge that is required to get into the top half of the grid.
It is a sad fact that pay drivers in those new teams were always inevitable and so long as that is the way they are funded IMO they will always struggle. Lotus have the best chance of survival from the evidence so far and the teams lining up for the 13th entry should watch and learn. |

Who were they chatting to in HRT...? He looked like a driver (sorry, that's so vague), but I didn't recognise him. Young chap!
Anyone know? Selby |

I'll be sad to see Bruno leave. He is one of the nicest guys in the paddock and is a much better driver than the HRT results this year indicate. Let's hope that he gets a seat in another team before the year's out. |
