Rear tyre wear is the key here.

Looks like I might miss the best qually shot for Sutil. Any justin.tv links would be great for a SPEEDTV-less house for tomorrow morning.

Very much looking like a Red Bull and Ferrari front rows lock-out today.
Hope Sutil doesn't get put back 5 places Selby |

Kobayashi versus Schumacher on the first lap - now THAT will be interesting.

Good lap from Vettel. The Red Bull and Ferrari are absolutely mighty around here. Though the McLarens improve with race fuel, so looking forward to a tight race tomorrow!

Vettel does it again. Nice to see Masa up there, having been in the doldrums, hope he can turn that into a result.

Nice to see the Ferrari's up there to hopefully take some points off the McLaren's.
Alonso and Vettel to have some argey bargey in the first corner and Webber to sneak through, take the lead and the win. Go Webber!! |

More likely that they will run away and hide. The front row owns their team mates

What did Ferrari do to find all that speed this weekend? It seems to me they've made quite a leap forward.

Glock has been given a ten place grid drop for two things, wrong 7th gear and a change of gearbox

Now we have to wait and see how the tyre games pan out..... with the two extremes of super-soft and hard the compound selection deliberately set to mix things up a bit. A potential repeat of Canada. Im not so sure they would have much data on relative tyre performance and longevity, given the wet track for much of the time. |

Haven't they got their 'afterburner technology' that ensures continuity of airflow from exhaust when off throttle, thus not losing the downforce as they lift off in the corner.

Well they've had good pace since Valencia, they've just wasted it. My gut tells me one driver from each of the top three teams on the podium tomorrow, although I wouldn't dream of guessing at the order!

Guys, what depressed me was the helicopter shot going down the old track...the grass and bush that is growing in place of where it is, but you can still see where the track was ,the chicanes, so depressing....
But as Brundle said, the old track was not about skill, it was just about low downforce performance and powerful engines, and you spent hte entire race hoping nothing broke cos if it did, you would be sore the next day... |

It was interesting what Brundle said. I thought about the variety thing too. You wouldn't want every circuit to have been like the old one, but a couple a year (with Monza) is fun. He was saying it in an entertaining way, especially with the "I might have felt differently...".
However I don't think the current track is like every other track. And I don't think it is rubbish. It does tend to have some good racing. Remember Kimi and Juan Pablo? |

To look at, yes. But at the end of the day, a circuit exists to facilitate racing. And this track tends to produce some pretty good racing. I miss the scenery of the old layout, but like the wheel-to-wheel battles at the new one.
