nope, DI doesent add anything to hp, only better fuel consumption, and better engine mapping, from what is known ferrari switched from 430s 4l non /di engine to a 4.5l DI engine of the 458 and they are know to be strugeling to achive 430s engine performance. Although that could be down to lack of development

Double 28,6mm for basic four-liter like Porsche and BMW... 5,5L vette with smaller base restrictor

IMSA Performance Balance Racing and Guy Smith were fastest in Morning Warm up and IMSA Performance Balance Motorsport with Dirk Muller set the top of the times in GT.

In the spec classes, Jon Field was fastest in LMPC and Leh Keen fastest in GTC.

Listening to Indy radio, apparently wind is picking up and cloud cover is getting heavier above the circuit. Only 2hours till race so we might be getting some thunderstorms

#4 had a fuel cell issue during the morning warm-up, hopefully nothing breaks during the afternoon

Nice one

How sad is this, relying DallaraCar radio to get updates from track when we could have RLM. Pagenaud replacing injured Wilson btw

IMS Radio has been a disaster ever since Mike King joined. For LMP1, hopefully it rains, remember Klaus Graf's first stint at Petit in 2009? Perhaps with an open top even Autocon (I doubt it) or some of the faster LMPC cars can take advantage of this. Id rather see an ORECA win overall than another Lola

daggys just twitted and basicly anoyed me to hell

One thing's for sure: the level of competition in GT could only get stronger. No major team expected to bail next year

those them Bop iMsa Works team seem to be staying for next year as well

Great news for the series, bad news for the competition. If Ferrari, Corvette and even perhaps Porsche improve their cars to a level similar to the BMW's next year, then they (the competition) will be slapped by IMSA BoP through restrictor and weight penalties.

Also, judging by the reaction on this forum to the current IMSA GT BoP, I could imagine how people would react to the differences in IMSA restrictors and weight between the Lola Aston and Dyson Lola if Cytosport had nearly as many fans as Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette ect.

Well at least IMSA is trying to do something with that 0,4mm decrease, I doubt ACO will change anything on the other side of the pond come Silverstone. It'll be annoying if they are intending to continue next year for sure, but if nothing else those two cars t at least make ALMS grid numbers look slightly better

ESPN3/alms feed just started

But at the same time, in the European races this year it appears that AF Corse has been able to compete with BMW, all be it with strategy and luck. Says a lot about AF Corse as a team in my opinion.

Looks rather grim and grey at Mid-Ohio!

The spectator camera shots here dont seem to work as well as camera shots of fans at European races.

Sports Car Racing/Indycar on the same weekend at a REAL road course (not street) can make for such a good racing event. Barber is another example.
