I thought it was standard practice for the KED / Rescue Teams to perform a full extraction to satisfy the medical delegate at all FiA meetings?

Yes, but I think the point here is: how often does a driver need to be extracted from a car that is parked in the garage? This seems to be an odd place to practice or demonstrate extraction. Perhaps it was raining. Or perhaps they are prescient about where their skills will need to be practiced next.

Note to drivers: don't eat a big breakfast whilst sitting in your race car.

I'm pretty sure that's standard too, since the car tends to be in the garage already and would have to be moved out especially. It also makes the practice more public.

I did KED for DTM and for GTs a few years ago, and on both occasions the practice (actually, demonstration of competency for the series doctor) took place inside the garage.

Methinks the humourous part has been missed.

Agreed. This thread seems to have been subject to a humour extraction.

In an attempt to re-introduce some Humour.
If you're a KED/Rescue Team groupie, could you be called an 'Extracteur fan'?

Think i better get my coat!

The sign writing on the Extrication vehicle at the Aussie F1GP a few year ago said "Extraction" so for the rest of the meeting they were referred to as "The Dentists".

You Extract teeth but Extricate people

Definately need humour transplant on here, I did like the garage comment and this being a marshals forum we are allowed to have fun at our own expense.

Well, when we extricated the driver from the DTM the team wouldn't let us release him until they'd taken photos... Wonder what website they're on?
