GSR and Studie (#4) was disqualified in the scrutineering.
(Air restrictor regulation violation) http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=2&no=50438 According to NOB Taniguchi's blog, it seems that adhesion of Air box was peeled off. It is not intentional violation. Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 18 Aug 2013 at 12:41. |

Yes, and this includes the GT-R with its Gundam-inspired design.

I have to ask someone that knows, around lap 80, what the heck was that safety car period? The SC came out and then they stopped the field at the s/f line, divided them between the two classes and let them go pace behind the SC again. It took them 8 laps to clean up one blown tire and bodywork. Made ALMS and Grand-Am look efficient.

The J-DTM can look like a warmachine, but I fail to notice any Japanese flavor to this. It looks more like a parrot.... and definitely not a worthy successor for the legendary NSX. http://www.acura.com/images/2014/NSX...t-curve-11.jpg http://www.acura.com/images/2014/NSX...at-speed-3.jpg GTR is changed as well(for the worse in my opinion),but also inherited some characteristics of the older generations. |

to me, new J-DTM don't look at all like warmachines. Gt-r seems a fat gt-r gt3, the nsx looks like a long hatchback with a mecha face. New lexus doesn't give me any sensation. Only the gt-r kept a distinctive GT bodyshape.

I suggest putting the two GTRs side by side and comparing them. The new GT500 GTR looks nothing close to the GT3 version. Its much more sleek, a lot lower and not so box shaped. Besides that, these cars are not finalized. Theres still plenty of time until the start of 2014's season.

Anybody got some timing of those cars actually from the test? Nissan and Honda seem to be doing bit more than just driving around. |

Does this mean that only official teams (nismo, tom's and weider) will use hybrid?

Next year they may use hybrid in GT500. THIS YEAR is only GT300.
And I have to say congrats to Subaru for their first win with the BRZ! |

Japanese Samurai, can you explain the reasoning for the GT500 penalties during this past Suzuka 1000km?
In particular, the Raybrig HSV drive-through, the Keihin HSV 10-second penalty and the Cerumo SC430, Mola GT-R and the (GT300) NDDP GT-R 90-second penalties. |

Well the rules for 2014 are equalized (DTM-Super GT). But I see difficult that German cars race in Japan and that the Japanese cars race in Germany.
What is the sense of equalize rules if the 6 brands will not race both championships? |

The pit stop before Safety car parade are aligned is a regulations violation. They are 90 seconds penalty. |

The Subaru BRZ was on another planet. Cool looking and fast at Suzuka. 6 seconds gap in the fist 2 laps! I wish that car was in GT500. It looks like the Honda are too slow in a straightline even though they won the race. Just makes the drivers lives much harder because they are easily overcome on the straights but they cannot make up ground in the draft. |

If they can't race each other, there's the DTM USA... But that one will most likely not gonna happen in 2017.

SuperGT uses the turbo inline 4 engines and bespoke tires. Theyll be a good deal faster than DTM! This thread talked earlier about the DTM maybe adopting the GT500 engine rules. And the Toyota thread talked about them possibly joining DTM.

I think that SuperGT and DTM will never be the same, they will have a common baseline and a DTM or SuperGT kits. This will allow to switch to the other championship with minimum changes.
What I don´t still don´t know is what DTM USA means, the next generation of DP will based on DTM-SuperGT base? |
