2 litres returning to Australia?

A senior official from Subaru Australia expressed interested in starting a new series in '09, possibly S2000 or GT300 or something else.

Perhaps we should move the thread over to this forum. In the meantime, please drop us a line over here,

I think it would be really good for S2000 to have another country join their ranks?

Considering AWD is forbidden in S2000 touring cars (not in rally cars, though), how are Subaru going to show off their product?

On the other hand, GT300 are readily available from Japan (Cusco Racing has an AWD Impreza WRX GT car), so that makes more sense than a Subaru touring car.

Well, they have the Impreza in a (1.6) FWD version as well, so that could still make an option. Plus I wouldn't be surprised to see Subaru make a 'homologation-special' like BMW did with the 320si. Like a FWD with more power than the 1.6 engine.

Subaru have marketed heavily in Australia that they only sell 4WD cars even though in other markets they sell FWD cars.

True, with their 4WD history and 'brand-identity' it wouldn't make sense to drive with a 2WD car.

In NA, Subaru has also stopped selling FWD cars so perhaps this is there way of encouraging people to buy Subarus, even if it's just the FWD?

Aren't the GT500 Scoobies converted to RWD?
