Didn't Lotus F1 give a couple of journalists some kind of jobs?

A new article by Joe Saward on the Lotus situation, trying to second guess what is likely to happen in the future.

It seems Group Lotus is near death and the last resort is to kill the patient [via one of the various legal options], sell off the assets and then attempt to revive. The Group Lotus saga seems more like a medical drama cliffhanger. For Lotus to reunite seems to depend on a rather sickly Genii to be first in on the firesale. That's what I gather from what Saward is saying anyway.

I am gutted by all of this and frankly would love the opportunity to punch Bahar in the *censored*. The first pain was losing Team Lotus and Lotus Engineering. (Remember the days where manufacturers would use Lotus as a contract manufacturer for specialised components/design?)
The whole Danny Bahar debacle. He seems to have a shelf life of 2 years everywhere he has been. No doubt a great wheeler and dealer but seems once people wake up to his smoke and mirrors they are left with little substance and the realisation that nothing is going to eventuate and they have just blown a load of money. I really hope Lotus is saved by GenII or the like and that as a manufacturer they continue to build low volume niche cars. A tie up with the F1 team means they could again grow the engineering consultancy side of the business....but the fact remains it probably makes very little business sense to save the name Lotus. Its a shame that Fernandez was pushed aside as you get the feeling that guys gets over the line on his projects and seemed to have an interest in preserving the heritage of the Lotus name Last edited by bella; 11 Apr 2012 at 14:49. At this point it is difficult to know what will happen to Group Lotus, however the F1 team is independant of it and can survive seperatly (after a name change again).

Group Lotus committed to F1. The article is actually quite hilarious.

F1 would certainly be more interesting if its press releases became more like that. I'm not sure it inspires too much confidence though. Saward's response is icey and reserved!

It actually reminds me of a kind of Ferrari last heard during the Prost era. Lots of melodrama and easy tempers. Bahar himself was probably too Ferrari even for Ferrari. You'd get a calmer reaction from a teenage girl on a blog.

False rumour # 6: Kimi doesn't know which team he's driving for.
Fact: Kimi is still unsure about which team he's driving for, but he knows his car is black. |

From Mr Gascoyne's twitter...
I hear there is plenty of space on the Caterham for Rexona and co to join in their fun.... While meantime, Uncle Joe has his nose right royally out of joint Here |
