Some offseason fun: Build a domestic ladder.
In this thread, you build a ladder if you think it's not perfect where you live. The more details the better. It can lead to an existing top level or one which you would like to see in your country. I'll start.
First step out of karts: Formula Continental A little different than the actual one, 1000cc bike engines hooked up to tube framed cars. I would like to see a cheaper alternative to the F1000 series we have here in the states. I'd go with a Van Diemen or Ralph Firman car as the spec chassis with a Honda 1000cc spec engine. No need for too much complication as this is meant to find drivers with the potential for a career. The real learning comes at the next step. Formula Atlantic Again, a little bit different to what we're used to. Tube-framed again, with a turbocharged road car-based inline 4. A formula is the control, but the wings are "frozen" and given to prospective car builders to design around. Wheelbase is a bit bigger, but cars aren't necessarily "big" cars. Similarities are shared with F3, save for lack of a carbon tub, and more power. Formula B The penultimate step, the first of which to have a full carbon tub. Street-based turbo V6's of all makes will be allowed. These would be reminiscent of the F3000 cars of the 90's. not necessarily big car stature, but definitely big car power, with 500 hp being the target. Spec chassis, but the ability to massage it. Except for the wings. Formula A A very loose engine formula, with 4.0L max road based engines, single plane wings with an adjustable gurney at both ends. Maximum wheel base, maximum track. |
