It's my understanding that any financial transaction involving Ligier went Jacques Nicolet --> Guy Ligier to allow Onroak to use the Ligier name for branding reasons, rather than it being an Alpine like deal to do some badge engineering. What I find interesting is the level to which it reflect the core value the brand owners are putting on their brand. Can you imagine a Porsche or Ferrari allowing Kolles to style a Kodewa as a "Porsche" or "Ferrari"? |

Lotus, who at one time could have rivaled Ferrari for brand value have floundered through poor management and ownership changes. I suspect whatever contract allows the Lotus brand to be used in the way it currently is was not entered into by Lotus cars current owners but by previous custodians of the name |

Presumably to make up for the lack of racing he did at Le Mans!

Why is there an LMP1 Manufacturers' World Championship whereas there's 'only' a Manufacturers' World Cup for the GTE makes?

Mike Skeen added to that new-look #61 Ferrari at Fuji
http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/m...corse-in-fuji/ I wonder if it's a precursor to more outing next year? |

Looking forward to Fuji next weekend will be nice to have another race so quickly after the other. I noticed the Motors TV coverage seems to be delayed due to Bathurst and there isn't any live coverage on Eurosport.
There is another Typhoon looking set to reach Japan within the next week http://www.weather.com/news/weather-...e943dd59635364 Im really interested to see if Porsche can close the gap in GTE and im hopeful that Lotus LMP1 can find some extra speed. Last edited by tux; 5 Oct 2014 at 19:39. |

Lapierre to miss the Fuji round for personal reasons.
The #8 line up will just be Davidson and Buemi. http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/fuj...toyota-racing/ |

"Personal reasons", hope its nothing serious. Davidson and Buemi are imo 2 of the 3 fastest in Toyota, so they should be just fine. Seems Lapierre always has rain issues, and with another Typhoon coming, it may be better he isnt in the car.

Toyota does not know the meaning of "personal".

Read their press release. I linked it in the TS040 thread. A "mutual agreement" is the wording used, but they claim he's still long term in the team. Maybe he just gets a 'timeout' from Toyota. I like Lapierre. But he was the guy driving when they lost their chance at Austin and more importantly the same situation at Le Mans.

It's a bit of a head-scratcher is the Lapierre release. Nowhere in there does it say he'll have a race seat next year. Not saying he won't - but that it shouldn't just be assumed.

Would expect that number at Silverstone to go up next year. The buzz of Porsche's return and Webber's arrival was negated by it being such a vile day, as well as it being at Easter when some people would rather stay at home. And even those willing to give up their roast lamb and brave the weather still had the option of the BTCC.
