Important bits:

The 15-race ‘06 schedule features seven events on CBS Sports and NBC with the remaining eight on SPEED.

The SPEED broadcasts start on May 13 with the inaugural Champ Car Grand Prix of Houston, and will each be preceded by a 30-minute qualifying show to air the evening prior to the race. The package also include a one-hour preseason special, plus the development of a “lifestyle” program with dates and times still to be announced.

Equally new for 2006, SPEED will re-air each of the 15 Champ Car races on the schedule, providing fans with more opportunities and greater coverage of Champ Car action throughout the season.

From CCWS.com:

The 2006 package features seven events to be broadcast on CBS Sports and NBC with the remaining eight races to be aired on cable motorsports leader SPEED Channel. The seven Champ Car races on CBS Sports and NBC are the most to be shown on network television since the 2002 season.

Will they all be live?

I never cease to be amazed I can see all ChampCar races live on tv and Americans can't

Yes that is not good, 2004 was bad when they had bad TV coverge not just in America but over the world but it has vastly improved this year.

I just hope the races on SPEED aren't blacked out here in Canada again. TSN's coverage stinks.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Eurosport/Eurosport2 is set for 2006, when it comes to the European broadcasts.

Speed might be blacked out in Canada for the live event, but we'll probably be able to watch all the replayed races on Speed, I would hope.

It's good that half of the races will be on network TV, but I think the lack of consistancy will be an issue. No one will know when to tune in. The ratings this year were pretty poor and I think much of it can be attributed to this factor and the zero promo. CC needs to build up a consistant audience again.

I suspect that Canada may finally get a break on the blacking out of the US broadcast. If Molson is getting out of the promotion business, what use does Molstar have for the TV rights? It seems plausable to me that they will be sold to TSN or Sportsnet or someone else.

Yeah well, next year is a world cup year, so I wouldn't hold your breath about them being as good as 2005.....(though to be fair, they've done very well this year.....for once... )

With Eurosport2 available I doubt the World Cup will screw with racing on Eurosport as much as it has done in the past.
