Alonso on loan to Minardi?
for balance of 2002. Maybe just a rumour but makes sense. Gives him race time for Renault and he already knows the car and team.
Would be a good benchmark for Webber. |

Don't think that Minardi's main sponsers would allow that!

I think they may as well stick with Yoong for the rest of the year. There is only a handful of races left. I've never been a fan of mid-season driver changes. If you pick a Wally, you've got to stick with him through the season (unless injury is involved).

Maybe the Malaysian sponsor figures its bad publicity having Yoong's DNQ ! (Actually I've heard Stoddart has a non-performance clause on Yoong, and that's why he's considering Flavio's offer of paying to give Alonso some more race experience) |

And what if golden boy Alonso comes back to Minardi and is beaten by Webber? This is precisely why I don't think it will happen. Not necessarily because Flavio is scared of it happening, more because if it does happen, Renault will look like a big French goose. Better to let him continue testing for Renault.

Yep - exactly, he wasnt even decent in the junior formalae at all...I can understand he is living his dream - but at the expense of far more talented drivers. Al, you've had your fun, now its game OVER!

We all know the single reason why Yoong is there - he brings much needed cash to Minardi. That is the only reason. If Stoddart could find someway of keeping the cash while banishing Yoong, I'm sure he'd do it in a heartbeat.
