My thoughts exactly.
As a race fan, the race was worth a 9, but I gave it a 1 because of who won it. I can't recall being as angry with a race result. I've been fed up with watching a sulky prima donna for ages now, and I just had to fast-forward through the celebrations and his interview by Brundle. And Mercedes saying Rosberg had brake troubles early on, is a load of XXXXX in my view. |

I give it a six. I've sliced a point off because they left the safety car out too long. But it was markedly better than the processions you can get here throughout the years.

Not a great race but still entertaining, conditions helped turn the usual procession into an actual race

As I wont pay to watch this I listened to it live on the BBC. I found it far more entertaining and informative than watching it on TV, you get to hear what's happening as it happens not when the Ch4 commentators get round to looking at the monitor (are Ben Edwards and co sitting in London or at the track) that's even when the TV actually shows what's going on.

Starting with the safety car gave it an automatic 1 rating. A far cry from the year when DC took out 11 cars in the start in the wet...I don't remember the year.

Why is taking out 11 cars in the start a good thing? That's 11 less drivers to give it all they've got to make a good race.

Gave it a 6 - start under the SC with no standing water in evidence was a downer and although the damp track produced action, it wasn't enough to overcome the usual Monaco procession.

7 for the race. 1 for me. I feel asleep shortly before the end. Woke up to find it had finished. Some entertainments here and there, but fairly typical Monaco. Couldn't believe we had the start and 7 laps under the safety car - pah.....

9. Because in this era, I simply do not believe that you are going to get a better F1 race at Monaco.

I thought it was going to be the usual, boring procession, through the Principality but it was quite entertaining.

7, Would have been higher if Max had continued to overtake cars instead of taking barriers.

I found this race curiously uninvolving, it just never seemed to get out from behind the safety car, Rosberg rolled over for Hamilton and then half the field. RBR rolled over for Hamilton by screwing Dani Ricc over, the stewards lay down for Hamilton's shortcut; push the rules and get away with it as usual; Max really tried hard and predictably; sadly; ended in the barriers, and the muppets at Sauber screwed up a team order!
The interviews and the commentary were putrid. Give it a 1, and forget it, horrible week end! |

Quite frankly the worst possible race imaginable. Is this what F1 has become?

8 for me.
SC was the correct move even though it was boring. two reasons. 1. its the only way to force everyone on to the full wets and 2. the remainder of the race was vastly improved with the dry line created by the initial 7-8 SC laps. also liked the variety of tire strategies out there. 5 different compounds used out there. |

I enjoyed this race even though it's run on an impossible track and presents a major challenge to the drivers and teams, space being a premium, I gave it an 8
I love Monaco and would be sad not to see it on the calendar .. |

78 laps around Monaco is tortuous for the viewers let alone the drivers.....

8. Good race. Better than anyone could have reasonably hoped for if it had been dry.
As others have said, starting behind the safety car (misnomer!) and continuing for 7 laps was just a waste of 7 racing laps. Thumbs down for that. On the other hand, the use of the virtual safety car for most of the incidents showed that it is a far better idea than the Mercedes trundle-buggy. I can't understand the people who gave this 1. Why do you bother watching motor-racing at all? |
