After my post following the Barhain GP, Fisico had 2 retire and a big test crash.
Today he could have finished 2nd...but again his "luck" disappared. And what about all the seconds he lost to clean the air ducts that the TV also showed to be cleaned already? |

The team would not be sacrificing their own car - and as for trying to say a big crash in testing was sinister - are you suggesting they want to kill him?

Yep.....Alonso's left rear tyre was in bad shape from very early on in the race.

Fisi might not be the favorite, but I think there is a long way from favoring someone to actually sabotaging your driver. Basicly, Flavio would have to be insane.

People forget there is a constructors championship on the line here. Renault, a massive company with a massive reputation to uphold, would not be happy to lose that time and again through someone sabotaging the car. They also do not want people thinking every second Renault that is sold breaks apart and causes accidents!
People that suspect sinister happenings such as this are slightly loopy I feel. |

On the French TV broadcast Flavio commented at the end of the race that Fisi did a top job today. OK, so F1 has plenty of PR speak but that didn't sound like the remark of a man who was no longer supporting this driver.

Basically taht would be implying that Renault have no interest in the constructors... because both Macs look supreame... and Renault need all the points they can get.
No conspiracy (so far) IMO.... if you saw Fisi he was wildly moving all over the place and certainly there was some sort of failure... unless they have some 'front wing failure' button in their garage.... |

If they wanted to remove Fisico, they could do it safely and have the car failing to get off the line on the formation lap.

I agree, this is getting ridiculous - its 4 races in a row now that his car has let him down. There is no conspiracy, but clearly his car is not getting the attention it deserves.
The last time I saw luck like his was ..... Rubens! |

Anyway on something important - Fisi's great drive today. Fisi drove really well today. He overtook at Barcelona - not easy and made Flav very happy. He set fastest lap. He made up a lot of time on his team mate. He also had the problem. I haven't seen anything about what caused it. Quote:

I doubt Flavio would have signed Giancarlo again if he didn't rate him and wasn't going to give him full support, at least in the early stages of the season while the championship is up for grabs. The reliability problems he's had have all been unrelated, so it's probably just a coincidence, rather than a case of negligent prperation or an overly-aggressive driving style.

Fisi was magnificent today, faster than Alonso. Considering the amount of fuel he was carrying too, his second quali lap was amazing. He's back on it, result or no result this weekend will give him a massive boost and I fully expect him to blow Alonso away in Monaco.

That Renault press release is interesting...
Seems Fisi felt the problem was bad enough to mention to the crew and get the nose changed, knocking the wind out of his own challenge. MUst have been severe, and yet nothing was obviously broken. I agree, Rubens luck. Or Kimi luck. Or Taku luck. Bad luck. If he can get a car to hold together, he'll blitz Monaco. All this conspiracy talk is nonsense, there's fake moon landing websites for that. |

Will you be surprised to see Fisico going to Williams and Webber to join Renault during this season?

During this season, before the last race? Yes I would be surprised.

In my opinion and considering all the parts in this puzzle...it is not so impossible.
Webber is under Flavio management. Flavio doesn't like Fisico but had to take him for this season under big pressure of Renault; but doesn't like him. Remember what Flavio has done last year with the winning Monaco GP driver...? This is why I see this a chance that can actually happen. Not now, but during this season yes. |

I'm not saying it is impossible just unlikely.
If he makes Flav. jump for joy when overtaking Webber I am sure that he'll stay at Renault. Last years Monaco winner? Well Flav didn't jump for joy when Rubens overtook him at Magny-Cours. There is the difference. |

At this stage of their career and particularly bearing in mind Mark's less than convincing performance so far, I can't see that Flavio would want to risk any self inflicted damage to either of his expensive 'commodities'. |

If it weren't for bad luck, he'd be having no luck at all.
