Some screenshots have become available of the EA V8 Supercar game which is rumoured to be due for release in November...yes, November this year !

That Dick Johnson game was a pathetic sham.

No wonder EA have gone off shore to Digital Illusions to write this recent attempt.

Dick Johnson's V8 Challenge was possibly the worst racing sim ever.

I'm pretty sure that a previous V8 game, made by a company with the help of Holden Racing Team was no arguments the worst game ever made.

Toca 1 and 2 and 3 were extremely popular with their great racing and non stop thrills and spills. With this v8 game, being real and everything, do you feel that TOCA game lovers who are you to late breaking and smashing around will like, breaking like 300-400 metres before a corner due to the V8's extra weight and less grip.

The 2 tracks I want to race on the most are Mt Panorama (of course) and Oran Park. There is no word as yet as to what tracks the game will come with.

One good thing I just though of though is now that they are using the same game engine used for the Swedish TOCA game it won't be long before some clever trousers works out how to import the tracks from that game into ours so there's more tracks right there !

Just been down the shops here in Penrith and they are telling me this game is due out on the 21st of November.

It is being launched at some trade show in a couple of weeks so more information should become available then.

Which shop did you ask at.

I asked at Game Keeper at Penrith Plaza last week and they told me mid december at the earliest.

oh well, hopefully it is coming out early, either way it'll be here for Christmas.

Any word on how many cars, what teams, how many tracks, gameplay, ralistic championship and so on.

Actually it was the Gamekeeper I asked...I was in there buying a couple of cheap DVDs and was actually surprised the guy behind the counter knew what I was asking about.

No info as yet but he said he would hoepfully see it at the impending trade show.

This game looks great, I do hope they sell it here in the states.

I know that we will get the TOCA Race Driver game next summer,and it will include OZ V8s, but I would buy this one too.

I haven't liked what I've heard so far about the Race Driver games. Maybe only 4 Aussie tracks and some stupid carreer mode thing as well. Codemasters always loke their games and you need to progress to access all the cars and tracks - bugger that.

Just gimmie a game I can race with.

Hmm, if TOCA World Touring Cars is anything to go buy, TOCA Race Driver will be worse. WTC, had a good variety of tracks, but nothing was really in-depth.

Do any of you know if this game will be available here in the UK? I've only driven V8's on WTC, but would like more experience of them. They were a real handful, ie - difficult to keep on track!

It's on the PC platform and uses the same graphics engine as the Swedish Touring Cars 2 game developed by Digital Illusions.

It's due out in shops November 21st.

Well here's something interesting I noticed today. On the official V8 Supercars website there is a small add fo rthe official V8 Supercar game. So I clicked on it to see if it was about the EA game but no - coming soon, June 2002 the Codemasters game.

So are EA releasing their game (supposedly tomorrow) but it's not official and AVESCO are nervous it will take away their copyright dollars ?

Interesting...if anyone buys this game before I do please post a review on what it's like.

oooo have to get me some of this!!!!

yeah TWTC was good (not as good as toca2) but i dont think the engine was designed with rear wheel drive cars in mind so the Holdens and Falcons are kinda naff and hard to control, especially round bathurst.

Surprise surprise the game didn't make it into stores today - didn't see that one coming ! hehe

Stores have now been told 1st to 2nd week in December. I've been hunting around trying to find a track listing for this game and all I have found thus far is Sandown, Adelaide and Mt Panorama.

I can see this delay going on and on and on.

It's been soooo long since a decent racing sim has been released. World Sports Cars was supposed to be out by now...I doubt if we will ever actually see it.
