Do you get privileged parking or out on the green with the old bangers.

...no - but for every Hooray Henry you flatten on the way through Henley you get 5 seconds knocked off you pit stop challenge time (photographic evidence required).

Better fit the 'World Cup Rally' front guard then. Those Mk1 Escort grilles cost a fortune nowadays........

Just realised this Maharajah's Tour thing am entered for is supposed to be for two person team- driver PLUS navigator!

Iain, keep an eye out for a suitable candidate for the Escort! In my serious rallying days, after making sure that they could actually tell the time and read a map or road book, next consideration was how much they weighed! Especially important in a GpN car- power to weight ratio critical..........

My navigator has the benefit of being less than * stone (please note single figure) and doesn't throw up when trying to read maps in a car. So far so good...unfortunately neither of us has ever rallied and have no idea what to do so we're just looking forward to a nice drive round the Cotswolds

and maybe the Malverns, Pennines, Brecon Beacons....

Am sure Mrs McKay will be spot on with the navigation.

Are you cycling on Saturday as well, Colin?

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure...... Changed mind about using Escort for the tour. 1700cc all steel BDAs make a lovely noise but car would have to be trailered down. It is not a motorway car! So am now rushing round to get the alloys refurbished on an old Porker and get it MOTd, so can drive down in it. Also has advantage that bike (dismantled) will go in back........

How's the weather looking?

D'you want any nice(ish) 4-stud Turbo wheels - 15" diameter? Only done 6 hours-ish round Snetterton since repaint - 1 careful owner then I bought them. Complete with the extended bolts....they cost me nearly as much as the car

No. But thank you. Think they would look a bit lost on a 968 in place of the 17s.....

I will if I can figure out a way of fitting the bike in the back of the Mk2. Of course, we might not have finished the rally in time for biking!

Pay attention at the back, there, Colin!

I used to get a mountain bike behind the front seats in a 911, and they had non adjustable backrests. So no excuses, apart from perhaps not being at the event on Saturday........
