Possible exclusive single-seater test at Donington

With SoM FF1600 and Clubmans FF1800 on 28th March plus FVee and F4 the weekend before, there may be an opportunity for a one-hour exclusive lunchtime test on Saturday 13th March.

Likely cost about £75 if 20 cars or £100/15 cars.

Obviously limited time but much cheaper than full test. Would want to keep numbers down as any redflags would be a problem to us...

If you are interested perhaps you could post below or, if preferred, PM me.

Instead of testing, why not race in the first monoposto race of the season at Silverstone on the same day? FF Zetecs are eligible for Mono 1800 and FF 1600's will run in Mono 1600. There is usually a test day on the friday, too. OK, its more expensive than an hour at Donington but more fun.

Not quite as useful as wanting to prepare for a race at Donington though Andy!

Donnington test dates are up on their website and from memory the first dates are at the beginning of march. Unfortunately their website is off line/crashed and they don't seem willing to return phone messages or e-mails for bookings, so maybe things are behind schedule.

Doesn't look like enough interest Jeremy and I've since discovered it has to run to trackday rules (ie. overtaking by consent only). That shouldn't be too much of a problem if there's only a few cars though.
It's a Bookatrack day with them being offered the track for £1,250 + vat for the lunchtime.
If they get enough numbers they'll do it.
If anyone is interested email jonny@bookatrack.com and if he gets enough he should be able to do it. Reckins on 6 or 7 at present - would need to be double that else some will decide it's too costly.

Hi John,

If it can be done for £80 then I'm in. But you'll never get 20 cars to make it possible.

Hi Howard
Maybe, but with all the racing coming up there and the price of testing there, you never know.

Hopefully we can find 20 cars. On my v.limited budget, I certainly would rather run for 1 hour at Donny then 3 hours at Mallory, especially with the F4 race there the next weekend. Just spoke to Peter Allen, he is interested so that's another car.

May be Jonny can lower the price in return for a little publicity?

I'm not worried about track day rules, if all the drivers have licences then there should be a problem.

Hi all,

On a similar note BRSCC TraXperience are also hoping to organise a 1 hour session for Formula Fords on Saturday 27th March. Cost will be approx. £75 for 1 hours open pit lane. I will post more details here once this is confirmed.

Steve.

Does it have to be limited to F Fords?

No, it's just a general single seater session, but will probably be mainly Formula Fords because both the S.O.M. FF1600 and Clubmans FF1800 are racing the following day.

Numbers should be similar (ideally) or probably less than those racing on the Sunday. The day is officially a track day but as everyone will be racers, I am happy for it to run as a general test.

Not that surprising with the BRSCC deal, which will likely be more 'suitable' for us anyway.

I can now confirm Saturday 27th March at Donington Park. The day will feature a 1 hour open pit lane session for single seaters in the early afternoon - cost £75.

Further information and booking form available by e-mailing steve@brscc.co.uk
