Hein should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So where is Thomas Schechter going?

With the news that Panther is bust, where wil its drivers be going? I would hate to see Tomas without a drive, the guy is a real talent and causes much exitement in the IRL.

Anybody out there that has info?

Tomas Scheckter tested with Vision Racing at Phoenix last week...

But nothing has been announced concerning whether or not he will be in a second car with them this season

I hope he gets something sorted. I really rate him, he's just never really shown everyone whats he's got in his locker. I think he could have gone far in CCWS or F1 given the chance.

I think when push comes to shove, he's not really top drawer talent.

I disgree. He is a top talent. He is lacking consistancy. With experience ....

Bluewolf has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Personally I believe Sheckter has now reached that fine edge of being able to run extremely quick and keep the car off the wall - If he doesn't get a ride this year it will be bad for the IRL because he's an exciting driver to watch and is entering his prime.

it appears 90% sure he will be driving a second car for Vision, they probably haven't announced anything because they're probably shopping him to sponsors, having a winning driver makes the team a hell of a lot more attractive.

Tomas knows how to set up a race car, and IIRC, one of his engineers has gone to Vision as well...

He could help that team tremendously...both cars...by providing good set-up info that can also be applied to Ed Carpenter's car...

To me, this is a no-brainer for Vision Racing...

Sign Tomas to a contract...

He also drove for South Africa in A1GP last year. He may end up there if something dosen't come together with Vison.

There was a brief item in today's Indy Star that indicated that Tomas Scheckter was announced yesterday for a second seat with Vision Racing...and that the actor Patrick Dempsey will be involved with the Vision Racing program

It's now official, yeah: http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/indycar/21978/

The signs were there and we all knew it was likely to happen, but it's good it's finally official.
