Volvo S40 Rallycross cars

These S40 racers, some of them that where at Croft for the GP does anyone have anuy contact details of any of the drivers or websites as I am after build pictures of the car etc

I dont know any contact details for any of the guys that were at croft, but if you goto the sales page on rallycross.com and click on the volvo s40 of wil teurings you will get a phone number and email address...

Don't know if you know much about the technology over there but he Volvo is kind of like the Mk2 Escort is over here, there is a huge tuning industry for the cars and as Barrie says if you go in rallycross.de there are loads of teams on three using all types of big Volvo Saloons, from the old PV model through 240 and 850 to the S40 that is currently popular.
I think they are the most spectacular cars in rallycross and personally would love to go over to Scandinavia and watch a big Swedish championship round just to see them!
I will never forget at the Croft Gp a couple of years ago they were all parked up in the pits, superbly [professional, far more so tha n any of our Modified teams and I went to watch practice on the pitwall.
Within two laps all of them were quicker than any of our guys and had the track sorted so quickly, ultra professional and extremely talented drivers, perhaps better than the supercar guys who just tend to be rich and slihgtly talanted rather than very talented and slightly well off. Remember Rustad,Petter Solberg, Olla Stenvall, Bermingrud all started there and they are super quick.
Wish we coiuld get them over more often, we really need a Euro round again!

I would love to see British drivers use them in modifieds as the Blue one at Mondello showed Bellerby the way home.

I have found quite a few sites and prep companies and I have emailed one driver for build pics so I can work on my model S40 now

I have just watched the Rallycross GP again on TV and these cars are the muts nuts in speed

Well hopefully this year with the introduction of the Super National regs in the RSS British guys can now actually race these in this country, they were and are banned under the MSA/BRDA rules and regs.

I know of at least one driver building a Super National car but it is not a Volvo.... Blue Oval springs to mind.

Lets hope with the introdction of these rules we get more of these cars in the UK and strong rumours persist that these Scandinavian boys will be back in the RSS and GP with a bang next year
