Russian GP
According the Autosport online, the Russian GP is being delayed over confusion over who's going to stump up the £1 Billion to build the track.
http://www.autosport.com/newsitem.cfm?id=18813&series=5 So it looks like 2004 is not looking likely, maybe about 2010 at the very earliest Last edited by OVERSTEER; 1 May 2002 at 13:31. |

I can't say I'm upset. Stupid, cock-eyed idea.

Go for another country, like Beirut.

Why don't we go for a place that already has a suitable circuit? South Africa at Kyalami maybe?

Kyalami has (or is?) having the Hockenheim treatment for the benefit of housing developers, so unfortunately it sounds like the end of F1 in Africa at least for the time being.
Russia- it was never going to happen was it? |

Nicholas,
I understand that Kyalami lay-out is not going to be changed after all. Regards, Muzza |

Russia will happen eventually, they just need to figure out who's going to pay for it.
I would love to see a grand prix at Assen, but unfortunately the circuit is much too thin for grand prix cars. Brno, in the Czech Republic, would be a sensational grand prix venue however. Why not move it from Hungary to there? |

Yes...F1Manoz, absolutaly right, some good ideas there - there are already some good tracks in eastern europe, Brno the best, so why not just have another race there? And, for the last time, FIA, scrap this RIDICULOS thing whereby Italy (Ferrari) and Germany (Schumacher), get two GP's - it doesnt make sense...

Yes it does. Germany and Italy both posses two of the best GP facilities on the calendar. Britain doesn't. Simple.

Let me ask you for a start have you ever been in Russia and have you ever worked with Russians. It seems all the info caused this post came from tabloids and stupid Holliwood movies. My all british bosses say there´no other office in our network where people are working so hard. The fact our Moscow Major decided to get his money back in 2-3 years instead of 5-7 offered by Bernie doesn´t mean that all the russians are drinking all the time. Hope you don´t think it seriosly. And your post was just a weak-considered one. I havn´t met you before on this forum so please don´t take this to be against you personaly. But I was reasly sorry to read your post. P.S. Inspite of misunderstanding between Bernie and Moscow Mayor the first one promised to build this circut if even his own money will be used. Good bless him. |

Bernie must be fuming. Too many more stumbling blocks and he'll probably call the whole deal with Moscow off.
I won't be crying when that happens. |

I wouldn't mind seeing a GP in Russia. From what I've seen, the Nagatino Island (really sounds Russian, doesn't it?) track looks really good.
As for Brno, I think you might find that it would be quite a boring track for F1 cars. It is perfect for bikes, but I doubt there would be much "racing" take place in a F1 race at the track. |
