I 100% agree with you - I want to see this event take off and I will attend the event as long as it lives, but $12,000 is a lot of money when you are an amateur/semi-professional driver. I guess if you had 3 or 4 guys to split the price up a bit, it'd be a bit better. And I agree that both Bathurst and Australia needs an endurance race for production cars - especially now that there is more television coverage for the event in 2008. I guess all we can hope for is more manufacturer support to help the teams keep the $$ down, and increase the entries. |

This question is open to everyone. Your honest opinion please. Based on the 2007 field, entry fees for 2008, etc. plus all the other variables in the event, how many cars do you believe will be on the grid in 2008 for the Bathurst 12 Hour??

My application is in for a volunteer again...the performace cars races at the 1000 were great. With factory backing for teams this event would grow like it did back in the 90's...and what great racing that was especially with the mighty Rx7 kicking the Porsches butts.

I'm sure the event will run in 2008 but 2009 is looking doubtful.By the way the support categories must be questioning value for money for their entry fees.Saloon Cars for example are paying $2000 for 2 races while competitors at the Easter Festival Of Sports Cars Bathurst meeting get 5 races for $500.
