Lola 50th Anniversary

Peterborough Motor Club has been asked to provide some marshals for the Lola 50th Anniversary in Huntingdon run on 12th October 2008.

Details are few at the moment, although it is intended to run the cars from the Lola factory into the town centre of Huntingdon, where they will remain on static display for the afternoon. We will need some assistance in providing cover for the parade along the route.

Let me know if you are interested and I will inform you when I get more details.

The link to the website for the anniversary is

Finally I have received more details about the run.

A parade of cars from 1958 - 2008 is planned to leave the factory at 12:00, and down to the market square in the centre of Huntingdon. John Surtees has been confirmed as one of the drivers. The cars are being escorted by the police and the parade should take less than half an hour to pass.
Marshals are requested to come to the factory from 09:00 until the briefing at 10:45, where they can have a look around and be treated to a bacon butty (if they come early). They will need to be on-station to stop access to the route and control public viewing during the parade, then may come to the market square where the cars will be on display until 16:00.

Anyone interested please PM me or email: turnera1@sky.com, I will then pass on details to the organiser.

Andy

Thanks for your interest

Sign will be from 09:00 until 10:30 at Lola 18, Glebe Rd, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Postcode PE29 7DS

Car parking will be at CTS/QUBIC across the road, where there is a suitable room for the marshals briefing at 1045. The car park will be sign posted. At signing-on they will have vouchers for breakfast at the 'Sandwich bar', to give out, and leaflets for marshals to hand out to members of the public explaining what is going on.

This event is organised by Lola Cars International Ltd in conjunction with Huntingdon District Council, Huntingdon Town Council, Cambridgeshire Police, Cambridgeshire Highways Dept & WS Atkins.
The format of the event will be a parade of cars held in a ‘rolling roadblock’ under the control of Cambridgeshire Police. At the end of the parade cars will be led to a safe area where engines must be switched off. Cars will then be moved manually to pre-appointed parking bays for the duration of the display.

On behalf of Peterborough Motor Club, thanks for all the assistance.

We have received thanks from Lola for how the event ran, also from the council and the police.

We are awaiting for the date of the factory tour and the DVD of the event.

Did you try to post the photo direct to the thread? You can't do that (see user guide/FAQ's), you have to put the photo somewhere else on the web and then link to it.
