Daytona 50th Anniversary

Can anyone give me some pointers as to where the best place is to get tickets for this event??? i have been on the official Daytona site but it will only let me book seats along the back straight, am i too late to get decent seats around pit road/victory lane???
This will be my first live Nascar race so any help/advise greatly recieved.

The tickets for that area of the grandstands are probably sold out, but you can buy tickets from resellers for seats around pit road, but they will cost you a lot.

Thanks Penguin,
If i buy seats on the other side of the track, can you wonder all the way around and can you get into the inner field??? with the same ticket or do have to buy VIP type tours?? sorry to ask but the Daytona website gives none of this info, it seems more interested in sending whatever you ask to the Buy Ticket section

Based upon the size of the place and the crowds, walking around the outside to get to the infield is quite a hike. The only pedestrian acces to the infield is via the original tunnel under the track. I am sure that your ticket will allow you to walk in. There is a separate ticket for the area near and ABOVE the garages.

PM to PeterM as he and I corresponded before his trip to this year's 500.

where to get tickets

I found a pretty good site to buy package deal for Daytona500 sportstravel.com

They offer a 3 day Disney Resort/Daytona500 package that says Allison/Lund tickets but when you actually click inside the package, you can upgrade your tickets to Roberts or Weatherly Tower Tickets close to the finish line/pit row.
