Subaru branded. Built by someone else.
When the company describes their product as a miracle, it makes you wonder a bit....

A deal? You mean he scammed Courage into building two cars, and didn't have a penny either? Sounds pretty similar, a scam artist.

There's so much to love about that website.

I particularly enjoy the captions on the clip art littering this page.

Is there anything tangible that says anyone from Subaru actually associated themselves with this "project"?

There is a massive part of me that feels like Shaw and Solaroli are in on this together. Oh man, after I actually read some of the garbage on there, it's just classic.

He filed for a patent on the described solution. You might not like his past, but if this is legitimate and the claims are founded from the language in his patent here, then he may be onto something. Only time will tell. Whats noticeable is he had this patented in 2001.

He had it patented in 2001, he claims to have built five engines with this "technology", but he never put one into a car to demonstrate that it works?

The most logical explanation for this is that it does not work.

Or no one wanted to do business with him? Toyota had a legal battle over their hybrid technology with someone else claiming they patented the solution in 1994. Toyota ended up settling with the man for an undisclosed amount. So its not unthinkable that a person can have an idea, patent it but not have the means to put it in motion. Then looking at the example I gave, it wouldn't be a good idea for a manufacturer to take this patented idea unless they can buy him off. That is if it works. Time will tell.

The patent issue is an interesting one. It's a US patent, which means if he in any way demonstrated his technology prior to filing the patent he has no protection elsewhere in the world, and in date terms, with a 1999 filing, the clock is very much ticking on being able to commercially exploit his intellectual property.

All this of course is predicated on it being practical, as again, the US patent office does not have a 'realism' criteria in granting patents.

I saw an F-type roadster in person, parked at Road America this year.
What a beautiful piece of machinery!

They are popping up all over Atlanta (NW and Buckhead), and I try to follow them any time I can. It makes a GREAT noise, and always turn down the radio hoping they'll pull away.

Was going light to light downtown behind one last week and the guy was hammering it at each one! It sounded fantastic and was echoing off the buildings so sounded like a proper race car, hopefully they go GT racing.

I figure they've been waiting for the Coupe to arrive and in turn the new GT regs.

Now we have both - so time to make a baby.

Jag are in such a good place right now. Taking the iconic brand back to Le Mans and other race tracks can only help that.

That's a good point, not likely to see any new Jag GT until the GT regs are sorted for 2016(?).
