It's in one of my Autocourses at home, but now, from memory, in '94 Radasich won with Germany taking the team's cup.

Biela won it in 1995 at Paul Ricard, it was an Audi/BMW walkover, despite a spirited attempt by Kelvin Burt to keep them in sight.

The Italian championship never ever had been called ITC... it was Superturismo, and in fact when two years ago the Italian federation tried to recreate an Italian Touring Car Championship (with S2000 rules) called it Superturismo again.

The ITCC created in 2007 is organized by a private promoter on his own who doesn't have the rights over the Superturismo name ans so had to use a new name.

ITC was the DTM name when they tried to expand the championship out of Germany

Murray says 42!

I like "That's Odor's Nissan, goodness knows how many of those have been written off this season"

You know what, I've just noticed something funny. Cleland's Vauxhall has its sequential shifter mounted on the column!

They had it there all during the 94 season.

Something introduced by Ray Mallock Engineering who ran the works cars that year.

Ah, that's something new to me. As I was born in 1990, I was only 4 when this went on, so, I had no clue of any of this. Thanks for that info though!

RML started running them on the Ecurie Ecosse Vauxhall's in 1993, when they took over the works Vauxhall's in 1994 it stayed. Infact every new Vauxhall from 1994-2000 had a column shift.

A number of other manufacturers followed suite. Off the top of my head in 1996 Ford, Renault, Peugeot & Vauxhall all had column shifts. In 1997 only Peugeot & Vauxhall had them, while in 1998 it was Volvo & Vauxhall who ran with them.

In 1999 the works Honda's gear lever was mounted more on the dashboard, but it was closer to the column than the console

I have like 15 min from it, from a French channel. I belive its the only footage ever aired on TV doe to the scrapped TV deals just before the race.

If you contact me I can give you more info (och liknande saker kanske av intresse).

The only scrapped coverage, was the Eurosport coverage, every other network aired it.

That was a fantastic weekend. Unfortunately the current ETCC hasn't got the same quality and quantity of entrances. Let's hope that will be better next year.

This is caused by limited entrants allowed. I mean, anyone, who had taken part in some WTCC round in factory team, can't participate. So ETCCup is second league in fact :/

Second leauge?

Why should compettitors of the WORLD touring car championship take part in the EUROPEAN touring car cup.

Thats where all of the top drivers from BTCC, STCC, DTC, etc. should compete. If the organisers managed that it would certainly not be a second leauge despite not having WTCC drivers.

Of course, it always can be better. But currently it is second league, as grid isn't really big each year, and there's very few top drivers from each series.

Agreed. Thats why the organisers need to co-operate with the series organisers of the main touring car series in Europe. To make sure the top teams from each countrie comes, otherwise its pointless...

Indeed.

But I dont think that the top teams and drivers from BTCC, STCC, DTC etc are any "second league" to WTCC, they are as good if not better then most of the feild in WTCC, in my opinion any way.
