Hey ASUKTV! I guess they'll have to be content now! But I have confidence in my boys at Champion Racing. Wouldn't mind seeing the #2 car claim the victory though. Are you present at Laguna?
I'll be there tomorrow milling about. Maybe I'll bump into you if you're about. |

A very good job by the Courage's pilots to : 2 seconds faster than the second P2, that's something ! Last edited by Fab; 16 Oct 2004 at 06:37. |

There has been little development in the LMP900/675 classes in recent years so the new reg cars even with, 'theorectically', less downforce and more drag, have moved the game on.
So in effect a new 'LMP2' car like the C65 is almost, if not as quick, as an LMP675. |

The Courage was 1.5 seconds faster than Intersport in qualifying, or 1.491 if you wanna be exact

the courage is with out a doubt a fast car, and the AER engine does pump out a lot of power. remember, the LMP2 cars still only tip the scales at 750 kilos which is a big difference in comparison to the LMP1 cars at 900 kilos. i definitely think that LPM2 cars like the courage, and especially the lola b05/40, if run by good teams will be able to mix it up with the LMP1 cars.

Do note though, the P1 "675" cars will be lighter then real "P2" cars. Last edited by Fogelhund; 16 Oct 2004 at 17:52. |

Yes, they will be gone in 06', I was only referencing those 675's currently grandfathered that are competing in the P1 class.

JHansen, yeap, here at Laguna - wouldn't miss it. Warm-up 1 & 2 for Champion Audi - tyre choice will be critical with temp. drop off in closing stages. Johnny still a little unwell. He will start with JJ in 38

Race is live on Motors TV at 12.00 am (UK time). I believe there will also be RLM commentary.

Yea, no kidding! I haven't looked but would bet that there are probably 'reality' shows on instead tonight.

Spot on, Bill. Laguna, unfortunately, has always been a network race, and the series wanted to keep it thus this year. Next year it appears it will be different.
It would have been an excellent race to watch in its entirety. I fear for the quality we'll see today. |

What was with the Motors TV highlights show? Jumped from less than two hours completed to 10 minutes left in the space of an ad break

Had a great time at Laguna Seca. I REALLY enjoyed the night racing aspect more than I thought I would. I wished the Zytek would have survived (and the Carsport Viper too) through to the finish, but I still found the race to be very exciting and entertaining. Attendance-wise, it was quite crowded up at the Corkscrew, and it seemed like there were quite a few people all around the track, just not many in the grandstands. Didn't mind the rain too much, it just provided the full sportscar racing experience along with racing into the night. Already can't wait for next year.....
(Glad I got to be there for the full event rather than rely on the TV coverage) (I had a couple of pics to post, but I'm not allowed to for some reason .... oh well, they weren't that great anyway..) hrug: Last edited by '70 Mach 1; 18 Oct 2004 at 05:28. |

Night racing is nothing short of awesome....glad you enjoyed...it certainly is a great experience to see the glowing rotors and the flames from the exhausts.... ON the crowds.... It has been my experience that stortscar fans seldom, if ever, sit in the grandstands....most spend their time going to various vantage points around the circuit to watch the action during the course of the event to get different racing percpectives of the action.... I try to judge crowds by their overall density in various locations around the facility, plus how heavy the traffic seems to be when leaving.... |
