pete55 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Who will get on the track first?

I was thinking about the new qualifying session next year and wondering what order the cars will go out onto the track for that session. If they don't have some sort of order i feel there will be mayhem as they all try to be first out on the track so they get a clear run.

If the garages are lined up in 2006 team championship configuration, the squads should be coming out onto the circuit in that order.

Whether that remains appropriate for future rounds is up for debate however, as quicker cars towards the back end of the pitlane and the slower ones in the middle might make this difficult to execute.

Maybe they should have a lotto draw then. That would make it more interesting and they wouldn't be coming out in the same order every race.

A little OT, but so what.
Paul Stubber will be first on the track at Bathurst this year.

Biante Historic Touring Cars are the first session of the weekend, at 8am Thursday. This year, the organisers have told us what order we have to line up in for Qualifying and not surprisingly Paul Stubber is first out of the blocks.

The drivers arent neccessarily going to want to be on track as soon as possible. Depends on the rubber and what time can be gained by more rubber being layed on the track.

At certain tracks like Pukekohe and Symmons plains... It wont matter the order, 31 cars on a 50-odd second lap!

I think it should be garage order. Although the mayhem we see at the moment, with cars tryna leave the gate first even for practice sessions, is mildly amusing! :P

Strategy could be interesting, just cos your firing out 7th doesnt mean you cant fart around and hold up the queue to make some clean air for yourself!

Or is there a rule to prevent that?

I wonder how long that system will last.
