Allegedly the Sportwagon has been found to have the incorrect spec engine installed.

That sounds fun from a factory entry I had wondered how a car could be upgraded from one model to another, like the Sportswagon, the Hunter STi and similar
I can recall a problem with the works Volvo team some years ago, when they upgraded an 850R from one model year to an 850R T5, and the components had changed between years. The new car (for PB..) was different to the upgraded one, and there were some eligibility issues. Any idea what century the official results might pop out? |

Then why is the Audi TT AWD Turbo and Jaguar X AWD in the same class as the Mazda ? BTW 2010 class for Bathurst and Manufacturers Champ is Class C - Performance .... not Hot Hatch 2WD.

I could be wrong though as the TT is a strange beast which can be had in six forms: FWD 1.8T FWD 2.0T AWD 2.0 TDI AWD 3.2 (VR6 like the Golf R32) AWD 2.0T (TTS - bigger turbo than normal 2.0T) AWD 2.5T (TTRS - five cylinders with turbo) The TTS firmly belongs in class A. For class C you'd probably be looking at the standard 2.0T FWD car - pretty much the same as a Golf GTI. But the WRX doesn't belong in class C anyway! The current rex has all wheel drive, 195 kw and 343 Nm. It belongs in the High Performance AWD class with these cars: Alfa 159 V6: 191 kW, 322 Nm Alfa Brera: 191 kW, 322 Nm Audi S3: 188kW, 330 Nm Mazda 6 MPS: 190 kw, 380 Nm Lancer Evo 8-10: 195-206 kw, 355-422 Nm Liberty GT: 195 kw, 350Nm Impreza STI: 221 kw, 407 Nm Golf R32 184kw, 320 Nm Passat R36 220kw, 350 Nm Volvo S40 T5 162kW, 320 Nm They're all roughly on par... except maybe the Volvo. |

"4 - The Category Technical Commissioner has advised that the review of a sealed engine from the race has taken longer than expected but should be completed soon."
This wouldnt happen to be the engine of a certain black station wagon now would it ? |

Having watched the show yesterday, I think that Herridge going into the back of the Hill car was inexcusable, it appeared to be that the Yellows had been waved for over 30 seconds at the time, and about half the field have successfully gone past the stricken car safely.

Mr Bowe narrowly avoided the incident as well. Herridge should be flogged for that...
anyway, looks like the GT3 cars will be joining the 12 hour next year. What are everyone's thoughts ? Personally I think it will ruin the race, having a dozen half baked GT3 cars bolting away into the distance. And the speed difference between those cars and the smaller class cars would be horrendous... For the number of entries the GT3 guys could bring in, realistically, compared to the number of Production competitors that would walk away would be about level... |

As most people would agree it would be great to see the GT3 in the 12hr but, you are right(in my book) that it could kill the event.
The speed disparity will not be an issue as it works all over the world (GT3 to base prod cars). Check out the Wakefield 300 or Queensland 500, W.A. 300. All ameteur events with large speed disparities and no accidents between cars( Wakefield 300 I know this the case but unsure of other events). They need their own event with all GT4 and GT4 car from around the world competing against each other. But this is a discussion for another thread. |

Wood-duck, that is probably a fair question to ask but driving under yellows & not being ready to avoid a hazard is a pretty cut and dried case IMO.
Overall quite an eventful race, not disappointed to miss that much rain but thinking of going back there next year now, if the entry & support card look as good as what they ought to be. B24, do they have GT3's and Yaris'/diesels running together? Given the performance of the 335i and HSV wagon I am even having second thoughts about whether the M3/RS4/Cayman level of cars are needed. |
