Couple more entries for next year confirmed by Atherton. Nice positive reading.

Did anyone else notice the 911 Hybrid's trap speeds? It was a mile or two off from P2.

If you have seen any GT3 races, especially the Spa 24, you would know that GT3's enjoy a speed/horsepower advantage (its in the published specs as well).

The Audi R8 LMS' had NO problem pulling the GT2 AF Corsa Ferrari's, GT2 Porsches and BMW M3 GT2 cars down Kemmel Straight.

This was Scott Elkins' concern about opening up GTC to current GT3 cars. You see the GTH Porsche even with hybrid power is right with the TOP GT2 cars in lap time. This is because Road Atlanta has very fast back straight.

I've said this before; a well driven GT3 car will get into the Top 10 of the GT2 grid and pro-semi pro driven car will finish ahead of the Seth Niemans of the world and push them down the order. But it could also push other GT2 competitors down if they find themselves back in the pack after a pit road issue or spin. This would effect not so much points but it could effect things like finishing purses.

Also the GT3 R Hybrid, isn't on track yet, according to my timing screen.

Looks like the 33 Jag and 10 Ford are AWOL for qualifying.

I think the Hybrid Porsche isn't allowed to qualify because it's unclassified. Dyson had the same thing last year.

EDIT: Jag is busy putting a third engine in the 33.

Didn't the #10 Ford crash quite badly in morning practice? 33 Jag has an engine issue according to Graham Tyler.

P.S. On another note, confirmed coverage of the Zhuhai race on RLM!

On ALMSnotes, it says that the #7 Audi had the tub changed after morning practice--don't know if it was because of Dindo's off or if something wasn't right to the drivers all week, but if the latter, it smacks of Silverstone '08 where the McNish/Capello Audi ran with a new tub and won because the car was off the pace at the Nurburgring. Very impressive as it took Audi less than 4 hours to rebuild the car.

Also, it seems that Peugeot have used their spare tub on the 07 after Davidson wadded it up yesterday--people peering into the Pug tent say that the spare tub that was stored in the rafters is gone.

Other sources (i.e. Autosport) say that the tub change was between the test day and the start of practice.

Right... LMP quali. Peugeot, please don't muck this one up.

60 seconds left and all the diesels are in the pits... Ant Davidson did 4 laps and plonked the 07 Pug very firmly on pole, while each of the other diesels needed to do at least 10 laps.

Dyson takes pole in P2!

Top four separated by .925 second. Audi, espeically the #9, is right on the heels of the Pugs. Hopefully things will be this close tomorrow, as with traffic overall lap time has little relevance at that stage, and staying consistantly fast and out of trouble is what matter, and both Audi and Peugeot have had offs in the last 24 hours.

Davidson set that up nice for the race, 2 fast laps and set pole, while audi had to destroy there tires trying to get even close.

Also, given what I heard on the coverage (can't remember for sure if it was SPEED or RLM) the Pugs have covered themselves in the engine department by going to steel con rods (presumably had been running aluminium). And in a long race, the Audi being less forgiving in its handling is NOT a good thing.

Very very nice going so far, seems like the 908 is ending its impressive racing history on a high note.

If the rules were followed the Pug would not get pole! Both cars had the wick up and blowing black smoke, which is against the rule. Shows just how much fuel they are pushing!

Wouldn't be suprised. This will probably be their most challenging race of the 3 round ILMC though. Traffic will be insane and the Peugeot, (and other) drivers must keep it on the track, no massive run-off like Silverstone. Start will be interesting with McNish in the #7 Audi and Field in the #37.

I am kind of sad to see the 908 go, the car has been amazing but I'm sure the 90x will be just as impressive.

Also, the 08 Pug took nearly 10 laps to run it's fast lap, and it had to push like hell to get there more than likely just as Audi did. Along with doing like last year, the removed the particle filters. If the Audis were running competitive times with the filters on their cars, it shows how much Peugeot is having to push.

Maybe Davidson is the new McNish, but he doesn't have the experience nor yet the ability to work traffic (he admitted that he went off last night trying to get around a GT car). And I'll bet that Anthony had to thrash the 908 over those few laps to get the time just as he had to thrash at Le Mans and early on at Silverstone.

I don't think that this will be a cake walk for Peugeot at all, considering the track's layout and the traffic.
