Computer generated Alesi
Are game programmers biased?
My collection of F1 video games shows that a computer generated Jean Alesi is a lot more sucessful than the real deal. In Geoff Crammonds GP2 Alesi is pretty hot round Monaco and has often picked up a win in a championship season. In F12001 for PS2 Alesi drives for Jordan and often runs up front and also adds a win to his tally now and again. In the same game for ps1 he often scores points in his Prost But the biggest Atrrocity of all is in EA sports F12000 for Ps1. Driving a Prost Peugeot the biggest Cr@p Box of all Alesi has won the British Gp twice at full race distance. Has anyone else notice any of these abnormalities or are my years of Alesi heartache being soothed by my Ps2? (And no I wasn't racing as Alesi when these things have happened.) |

Alesi tends to do well in F1 '97, that is until I run him off the track.

Its true. When I play F1 '97, I aim for 3 things:
1. a win 2. to ruin Alesi's race 3. to ruin Michael's race |

i once overtook Alesi in F1 2001 in a front-wingless Williams so no problems there. my unreal one is possibly Kimi getting a few podiums one in Oz'

Kimi nearly did get a podium in 2001, so it isn't that far off.

PS2 F1-2001 has had Alesi, Trulli (both Jordans) Burti and Frentzen (both Prosts) winning, other than that a realistic game.

Well on the full race distance German GP on F1 2000 Marc Gene's Minardi won, That was after Both Mclaren's and Ferrari's spun off at the first corner!!, I should have won but R Schumacher tipped me into a spin at the Ostkurve and was given a stop-go penalty for not going around the chicane as a result.
And something else that p*sses me off about that is that Button never qualifies above 17th place on the grid when he did much better in real life. |

When I used to play GP1 I always tried to fix the standings 'cos Barrichello would always do better than Schumacher so I'd ram Rubinho. There, I've said it.
I wouldn't do it in real life though, honest! |
