BMW to block Glock move?
It is implied in this article that BMW are trying to stop Glock moving to Toyota.

Indeed, especially the Contrat Recognition Board's views. That said, one can understand BMWs point of view if Glock has a contract with them. However, one can imagine that Glock is keen to get a race seat, especially given Heidfeld and Kubica's presence at BMW means that it is unlikely a race seat will arise there soon.

Surely they could send him on loan for a year? I don't think BMW need fear Toyota but the experienced might teach Glock something...

Come on, this is Toyota we're talking about, the team with more money than common sense itself. They'll pay if they really want him

I guess it depends how badly BMW want to keep him - if they don't have any use for him (and they don't seem to at present seeing as they have two drivers confirmed for 2008) they may as well just take whatever Toyota may be willing to offer for him.

Perhaps BMW should consider a customer team and have Glock as part of their package?

this article plays down the BMW desire to block this move, rather has a quote just saying they would wait and see...imo probably in the hopes that Toyota will have to pay for his release.

It seems relatively small compared to some. BMW have probably spent this much on his development, McLaren have shown how this policy can reap dividends.
Also, given 7mill to shop for a driver, what other options are available on the market?

McLaren spent around £3m on Lewis, and that's from right through karting. How long has Glock been under contract to BMW?
I suspect they are simply hoping that Toyota will pay them for him. However, Toyota might want to wait - even if they can't grab Alonso, they could grab a fallback such as Kovalainen or Rosberg, both of whom are probably preferable to Glock.

I think they should just give him Kubica's seat. Wouldn't be surprised if he delivered better results. Glock is a pretty damn good driver that has been let down by the reliability of his material in GP2.
I'd really like to see him get a drive at BMW. A customer team fielding him would be great.

What's wrong with Kubica? Not the finished article, granted, but he's quick and shows a lot of potential. Why would BMW want to get rid of him? I'd be surprised if Glock was so good that BMW were willing to sack a driver with a lot of promise to accommodate him.
