MichaelC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
McRae wins

Colin managed to not crash again, and he's duely wrapped up another win. Burns is second, and Sainz third. Obviously Burns' complaining about McRae deliberately slowing down to avoid having to go first did him no good at all.

Fords challenge is looking increasingly more competitive. McRaes now third in the standings with Sainz above him? Was this Fords' target year for winning the championship.

At the moment, I guess Colin's suddenly hopped into position as favourite for the title.
But this tactical driving is getting ridiculous. If there's very much of this trying not to be first on the road, the whole sport is in danger of becoming a complete farce. It's up to the FIA to sort the rules out. Why can't the top drivers choose what number they want to start as the next day?

I think this tactical driving is mostly psycological and the rest of them are going to wind up red faced when someone doesn't back off and winds up with a 30s lead.
How much difference does one or two cars make to the road surface anyway, bearing in mind that five or so 'Official' cars have driven each stage at speed just before the first competitor arrives.
