Ayse and Pascal's Le Mans Pole and Race Predictions - Results Posted (thread open)

Those of you who’ve been here a while will know that in years gone by I've run predictions competitions for both pole position and overall result at Le Mans.

My fellow moderators have generously agreed to indulge me again this year and with the help of PascaLM – who will monitor and table the predictions – it’s time to make a start.

To avoid duplicating too much the FRC predictions competition, there will be just one predictions thread in which you’re invited to record your answers to the following:-

1. Overall pole position – car # and time – to nearest thousandth

e.g.

ORECA #5 - 3:30.143

2. Overall winner, second and third – car #s and laps completed by the winner only

e.g.

1. Rollcentre #18 – 378 laps
2. Peugeot #7
3. Pescarolo #16

3. First retirement – just the car #

e.g.

Audi #1

And that’s it. In order to establish the overall winner Pascal and I have devised what we hope is a suitable ‘weighting’ system.

But now the rules.

1. No surplus comments, no funnies, no additions – just your predictions. We will remove anything else that you add!
2. No amendments are permitted unless you can satisfy one of us that you made a genuine mistake.
3. As in years past, we deliberated long and hard about whether the competition should start before or after the Test Day and we decided to start it now. But to encourage you not to wait to make your predictions, although you can leave it until after the Test Day if you want to, if you do, your prediction won’t count in the competition.
4. Any queries about the competition to myself and Pascal by PM please.
5. The thread will close at 10 pm on 9th June.
6. Anyone who predicts an Audi win will have 10 points automatically deducted.

(Darn, Pascal says I can't have that last rule...... )

13.5.08:- Additional note - If any of your selections is withdrawn BEFORE the cut-off date/time, you will be allowed to provide an alternative. If it is AFTER the cut-off, I'm afraid that's just bad luck.........
