I think it's just the same old story: build a car outside the rules and try to get the rules changed because you are a big important manufacturer the series can't live without. Not!

Isn't it Rahal Motor sports that is running the team, not BMW motor sports?
New teams dont seem to get Mich tire lease contracts. Dunlap wants a better visabilty in North America, they just need to bring the better Dunlap race tires.

They'd be better off racing on Dunlop tires if you ask me AU N EGL!

Well, it is Rahal and BMW combined... if what you say is true, how did Rahal end up on Michelins with their Porsche the first year out then?
Oh, Dunlop, not Dunlap.

Hey Chris. How the heck are you?
Yes Dunlap may give them tires and even pay them. The Mich tire shod teams all lease the tires from Mich. Mich does not give tires to any team.
Or Who really knows? Some times free tires are great. Other times free tires and a big check sponsorship are not so good, when the tires arnt competitive. What team do we know that HAPPENED too?

Yes, if that was the intent of the question. But the car was built to the GT2S rule set.

As others have said: The Dunlop tyres Virgo had in LMS did not seem half bad. Looks like Dunlop are in it for real and actively developing their tyres at considerable effort. Depending on the input RHL/BMW have over the tyres, it might have been a fantastic choice.

Then that is a great idea.
We all wish Rahal Motorsports a great year with the new Bimmer.

Add to that that Michelin is supporting various top-teams already in ALMS, while Dunlop could be a RLM-BMW exclusive, meaning more dedicated support tailored to their car?

Of course, there were multiple Dunlop runners in the other classes too. What about them?
