AM Speedway - Pakistan
This may surprise you, there was racing circuit in Pakistan (1989-1997).
I built the track on our private land and it was in operation until August 1997. In 1998 I moved to the Gulf region and unfortunately motorsport in Pk came to nought. This circuit is a 1.6km road course with a 510 feet front straight and a 775 feet back straight. It hosted mainly Sprint type races from 1989 through 1997. It is located about 68kms east of Karachi. Now lies in disuse and disrepair. I will post the coordinates you can google it. |

How did you came up with the idea?
Are you a driver/pilot? How much $$$ did it took?(if possible) Did you had to overcome political or other kind of issues? I'm eager to know! |

Google coordinates for AM Speedway are:
24-44-02.49N 67-43-48.17E LuiggiSpeed; I used to race an RX7 in the South Eastern US during mid 80's. Then built the circuit once I went back home. I bought the land near Karachi, did the track design myself (although I did not know much about track design back then), built the track with family funds. Cost wasn't much in those days (around Rs. 5m in 1988-89). I affiliated mainly to the SCCA back then. Now I am involved in Gulf motorsport projects in addition to Pakistan. |

Well I salute you and respects Brother!
I hope I can build one of my circuits, I have a proposal for the municipal governments of several towns but the economic crisis sure makes it very hard to swallow and I don't have "family funds" |
