Wakefield Park Lap records

Does anyone here have the lap records for Wakefield Park handy, specifically under 2litre sports sedan.
Any help would be appreciated as they are not listed on the WP website.

Try the natsoft timing website, usually on the bottom of the timing sheet for the session is the current lap record information. Simply find a session for the category you are looking for.

Times set in qualifying do not count towards circuit lap records in this country. Only happens this way in the US.

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
records as per v8 supercar

the V8s acknowledge only racing laps as being the lap record.

But in a series that has single car qualifying and reasonable consisten technological rules to me it seems logical to have a qualifying record also

This is why the americans do it also because they have a strong emphasis on qualifying and in NASCAR its one car at a time and reasonable consistent technological rules

thanks for your responses so far. As for the WP website, only the outright sport sedan record is listed (Tony in the Alfa).
Profi, thanks for that, at least gives something to aim for.

Try and aim for Allen Gurr's time of 1:01.8693 in his bmw 320

2 litre engine fits in with all the 2 litre ss rules. Just a truck load of money
injected into his car.

Cheers Profi

think more along the lines of a shipping supertanker worth of money thrown at the cars motor and suspension!!!
With the kinda tired chassis we have, kinda think a 1:01 will be a little out of reach, but damn it's gonna be fun trying.

Don't expect the Wakefield website to be hurriedly updated, I have gone under the sidecar lap record on a number of occasions and it has never changed on the website.

Same with Production Sports (2b). My brother has knocked that record off twice in our car. Now down to 1:01.19 although I'm sure Nick Kelly will give it a nudge this year.

This problem (records not being updated) isn't confined to Wakefield. Queensland Raceway also has some incorrect records (IIRC even their outright record is still wrong - but I may be wrong on that - it was 2-3 years ago); Oran Park has some 'missing in action' especially from pre around 1987-88; Sandown's previous promoter rounded his records down causing issues; Mallala 'lost' a few; Hidden Valley credited lap records to vehicles outside the category (eg Mazda's for HQ Holdens!) and times below 10 seconds per lap); Baskerville's team simply refused to even publish and/or update theirs at one stage and Wakefield under the previous administration simply 'lost' many of theirs. Calder Park - with Bob's regular purges of Track Managers, the reliability of lap records was also compromised. When Calder started running regular open meetings again in the early 90's they could not provide ANY of the old lap records set on the short circuit!

The issue isn't always the tracks problem - it is also that of those doing the timekeeping. Some pass the results back to the track owner/management, some don't. The track owner/promoter doesn't always pass on corrected or updated records to the crew doing the timing. And, as the events aren't always promoted/organised by the track owner, there is the issue of 'are the times accurate and will we recognise them?'

There is at least one crew in NSW and there was one team in QLD that a couple of promoters wouldn't even consider using their data for record purposes - consequently, any events timed by those crews were ignored (in the case of one of them some of the times were blatantly wrong and never corrected).

Put all of these issues together and you can start to see the problem with lap records - not just at Wakefield, but Australia wide.

For the record - a couple of the tracks have excellent records - Barbagallo and Phillip Island probably two of the best.
