I've only now just got rFactor and now rFactor 2 is on the way. What does this mean for rFactor, will it and the mods made for it still be available?

rFactor has been out for years now. rFactor 2 had to come eventually, ISI could not continue supplying free updates like they have been doing. Mods are not regulated by ISI, so you could not make them unavailable. Whether rFactorCentral stays up as a database for rFactor mods however is up to Pete, the webmaster.

rFactor 2 probably isn't due till late this year at the earliest anyway. So you have plenty of time to enjoy rFactor.

it depends on what engine changes (ggame, not the cars!) they put in rf2. there has been talk of rain for yonks, that alone could make a big difference. We'll juyst have to wait and see, but the community usually converts from one game to another so i'm sure a lot of the major mods will appear in rf2 as well

I've only had it a few weeks after trying to demo a few times and never getting into it , I've finally started enjoying it. Still, no biggie, and 2 looks like it's gonna look great.
I just really hope there is weather, I'm sick of racing games (sim or otherwise) that don't have any weather or nightraces etc.

I hope it's not too much hassle for the mod authors to port current rFactor content across tho, I'm enjoying the Caterham mod (seeing as I can't afford the real thing!)

I'm in the same boat, i got rfactor and a wheel purely because of TCL

It'll be fine i think David, rf2 probably won't come in for a while, and any 'move' to rf2 would take time, and similiarly i'm sure there'll still be people playing the likes of TCL to keep it worthwhile anyway
