In fact, he was the standout class driver of the weekend, fast from the beginning to the end.

Bruno Méndez was hit by his team mate Campos at race 2 when he was fitting for P3. In the crash one of the rear tyres got a puncture so the race was over for him.
After replacing the tyre he was able to pick up the point for the fastest lap.

Next round Monza 3-4th October.

Bruno Mendez & David Fumanelli shared the race wins at Jerez. An incident at the start of race 2 between Miguea & Mendez took both championship contenders out

Bruno Mendez said :

"I overtook Celso at the start and it seems that, as it is normal now that I overtake him at the start, he got furious and hit me, and Adrian was also caught by the incident. I thought Celso was a good driver, but it is really sad to try and win a championship this way. I hope the marshals do something about it, as it can be seen in the video of the race, 50 metres before the race he was already straight and he hit Adrian and me."

Points after 14 of 16...

1. Celso Miguez - 135
2. Bruno Mendez - 131
3. Stefano Bizzarri - 79
4. Cristian Ebbesvik - 60
5. Adrian Campos - 57

Final round is at Catalunya on Nov 1...

Bruno Mendez is the 2009 Champion

The last race was amazing with some very good overtakes. This is the last one that Mendez did to win the championship with 3 laps to go :
