Paddocks
Sorry felt I had to reply to the "paddocks" situation. Although I know that some clubs may have their fair share of motorhomes etc., Ian ,myself and helpers have just spent two days at Oulton with the CSCC surrounded by friendly run of the mill folk all residing in small tents and cooking on even smaller camping stoves! Most cars came on trailers towed by everything and anything! The CTCRC are the same. Some competitors driving their race cars to the circuit, racing and hopefully driving home! So Mike don't give up on Historic racing, we are mainly a bunch of enthusiasts racing for the fun of it on what we can afford. Please try us out! C&I

Simon, try this link, it also gives you the html code so you can type it rather than link it.

So sorry Celia, I've been out all day, or I wouldn't have failed to acknowledge your post, the Cadwell Park weekend sounded great fun.

Perhaps time to split this off the thread....

Mike
We have had a couple of email exchanges re your car. It has just struck me that you may get some Irish interest if you contact Irish Vintage Scene Magazine - they might carry a feature. Link: www.irishvintagescene.ie
The car's racing provenance makes it eligible for the pre '55 racing class over there. It is expected that the pre '55s will get a demo run at the Phoenix Park weekend 8/9 August, as they will not have sufficient cars/race licences for a full race grid. Could be an interesting jaunt for you.
Without allowing too much thread drift here, I always enjoy a walk about the paddock to see how others are transporting their vehicles. The 'Drabble Bus' is very impressive and very much in keeping with the period. Saw it recently at Silverstone. Reminded me of Chris Summers transportation in the 1960s when he came to Ireland for Dunboyne/Phoenix Park - raced Lotus 24 with Chevy V8 (but rusty exhaust pipes) I considered one for myself, but settled for an ex MOD Bomb Disposal Daf 45/160. My prizewinner vehicle to date is 1960s ex Banbridge District Council fire engine, still red, with bell - beautifully converted to carry a Formula Atlantic.
Good luck with sale and tooth count!
