Alex E should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Unsilenced testing.

I have been trying to find some unsilenced testing / track time for a couple of cars pre LMC, so May / June time.
Apart from some days at Donington it seems almost impossible. It seems Silverstone now have no unsilenced days any more ! Only 108db static, 105db driveby.
Does anyone know of anything else ?

How about Mallory Park? I know they used to have some loud cars on Wednesday morning ractice without too much problem. I suppose It would be safer to ring rather than just turn up though!

I think the only testing days left to take place at Thruxton this year are in July/August time (before each of the two day BARC) meetings, which may not be of use for pre Le Mans Classic testing.

And be warned that some of the neighbours are being reported as having got a bit twitchy about the Wednesday sessions. Last time I saw anything about it the rumour was that the circuit might have to reduce it to once a month, but I think the terms have now changed to say "Cars: must be silenced".

Yeah, Mallory is certainly having a few problems. They are not noise testing before you go out but they are asking at sign on what noise level your car runs at.

With regards to Thruxton, they have already had their test days (two days in the middle of February). If they do have another day, I can't imagine it would be unsilenced as they also have problems with neighbours in the village so it'd probably be run at 105dB or 108dB.

Llandow could be a possibility as they don't talk about any limits on their website. They're also pretty cheap and ideal as a shakedown venue.

You could try Blyton Park near Gainsborough. Contact Richard Usher.

No formal limit at the moment and has run some noisy days though prefers sub 105dba.

Pleasant informal facility with good circuit aleady been used corporately and by well known folk.
