Triumph to focus on three bikes for the rest of the year. Disalvo gets the axe.

Funny, reading the team's press release, it doesn't sound like they wanted him to leave and will be looking for a replacement rider. And they pointed out Lagrive's better finishes. LOL!

You can't expect a rookie to both the bike and the circutis to be on the pace immediately, but when you compare his record to Davies', you can see why botgh parties might feel it was time to make a change. WSS did NOT need to lose another bike though, the field's almost as thin as MotoGP this year...

Up to Flammini really, they simply must change the rules for 2011, get rid of stupid, ointless electronics.
When you consider theya re not commonplace on the premier 600 category of Moto2, why on earth are teams spedning inordinate amounts on this tech in WSS.
Same aplies to BSB, WSBK and any national series, the rule makers simply must make these changes to ensure the premier championships are fed with good talent that is proven on bikes that are hard to ride, thereby allowing talent to shone.
WSS is a joke right now, and WSBK is turning into that when 990 GP bikes are allowed to compete coz Flammini want Biaggi and Aprilia to win.

For the best really. Part of me would have loved to see a comeback, but the other part of me is glad he found some sense. Nothing for him to prove.

It might worthwhile discuss Jakub Smrz. He tested a BMW recently and it was thought his team might be switching bikes. He has one of the oldest Ducs on the grid, but has outpaced the factory guys on occassion. Superbikeplanet suggest he might be in line for a factory ride. I tell you, if he could regularly transfer his practice/qualifying pace to race pace, the guy would be a star.

Hehe, but he never seems to be able to does he.
Suggests a typical approach from someone short of money, quick in qually useless at starts and then goes well from the back in races!
I rate the guy a bit, but his Dukes are no olser than the Althea bikes which are Airwaves bikes form 3 years ago

Smrz will be on an Aprilia for the remainder of the season. So I guess BMW lost out. Can't blame them, the Aprilia is a better bike. Wonder what kind of spec it will be?

Why did he leave Ducati? Because of the blow-ups?

Not really as Byrne and Checa's bieks are just as old in fairness!
Scassa is going well but he has an ex factory bike, and I cant imagine Lanzis buike is anything other than Laconis from last year and that was alright with Regis on it.
I wouldnt think Smrz bike was that rubbish, after all in qualifying...... Money talks I guess, sad really. Dont rate the bloke much, he is a hotlapper
