KineticEnergy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Absolute sacrilege. The sound of Robson's Lola when Andrew is giving it the berries, shifting up through the box as he heads down the front straight is one of life's pleasures. It it sounded just fine to me yesterday. 96db limit or otherwise.

So don't expecte Sandown to last too much longer for that very reason. And when Mr Fox starts building his 72 hole golf course that will leave only 1 race track in Victoria

Sandown has advised the various sprint events that run there that there will be a 75db noise limit. Also the council has insisted that the EPA be in attendance and will issue $100 on the spot fines to any car that transgresses. Exclusion from the event will be immediate, no warnings.

My understanding around town, talking to several bankers, was that several major development companies pre GFC were looking at purchasing the land/track.What saved the track or the reason why it was not sold was the lack of funding available for the project.
Wonder if once the banks free up commercial lending if the complex will be sold for development?
General feeling in horse racing circles is that Melbourne does not need 4 horse race tracks .
Is it Mr Fox's intention to wind down motor racing at the Island once his hotel/motel golf complex is given the OK?
So with Calder all but gone,Victoria would be left with only a rural motor race track.

How true.
For any cash strapped council, the dollars a sale would bring in would be huge.
How many meetings does it hold a year?
Horse meetings maybe 12 and the motor racing is limited to about 5 or 6 open meetings?

Question!
Whom owns Sandown race track?
1.The local council?
2.Victorian racing club (VRC)?
3.Melbourne racing club?

I enjoyed Sunday's racing, always good to see Red Hill opened up for spectators.

A few pics from the day ...

There is something about the shape of MGB GT's that gets me going

F5000 gets my noise vote for different reasons to the lawmakers; BOOOO to them!

The Torana incident at turn 9 - what these pics don't show is the Warsteiner M3 that went straight on and buried its nose in the sandpit seconds before this happened, or the gash left in the fence above the armco where the Torrie tried taking off .... and how appropriate was the signage on the fence?

The audio is two of the radio channels for the marshals at the event, actually gives those of you not involved in the sport an idea of how busy it can get in the seconds after an incident.

One has to wonder about the A9X drop tanks in light of this....

So what is the max db for road going cars? I'm sure it is higher than 75 so why have a limit on the racetrack? Why aren't the council out on Dandy rd pulling cars up then?
