Well, none at the moment, since it's under construction.

Atlanta Motorsports Park (a Tilke job, which is why I'm bringing it up) is supposed to be another one of those racing country club deals, but I have no doubt that they will supplement their membership dues by having driving schools, as well as amateur and professional series run at the track, in due course.

The paddock and pit lane are laid out to be spacious enough for any of the domestic road racing series really; that includes ALMS or Indy Car. If you haven't seen the layout, it's 1.83 miles, but is NOT a slow lap. The course has two hairpins, four medium-speed corners or so, and the rest of the bends and curves are quite fast. There are two shorter straights, two of slightly greater length, and one LONG "straight", going past the pits. In an LMP or F1 car, the two hairpins are 45-50mph, and the start/finish stretch gives enough room to get up to 185-190mph. I would estimate an LMP lap time of roughly a minute, which comes out to ~110mph average over the whole lap, though I think it could be even quicker than that.

Hopefully, we get to see the Austin track layout fairly soon.

It looks like construction is going to start in December. That's a pretty tight time frame... about 1 year to the FIA track inspection. And shortly after that comes Bernie's golden toilet inspection.

I sure hope they don't have a rainy winter down in Austin. They're going to need every available work day that Mother Nature will permit.

Go Austin!

Sadly the F1 race in Austin will not go ahead because Bernie Ecclestone's solid gold toilet, has a wonky seat. He is displeased.

I wonder if Bernie realises how much he is disliked?

We'll just lock him in his lieu until he agrees to our terms for F1.

One of the articles I saw said there will be another press conference tomorrow.

I figure it can't be too long before we see a preliminary track layout, since they've already announced the site, a few investors who agreed to go public, and when they plan to begin construction.
