THAT JUST IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!
The wrong material was put down in the first instance, removing (some) of the big stuff wont do it as the stuff just wont bind, it has IMHO to go and be REPLACED with another material that has the ability to bind with itself. We also cannot take the circuits word about any remedial works as in the spring they assured PSM that the loose had been sorted last November It was only revealed to just as bad as last year when PSM went for a visual inspection after it had all last winter to compact.

The Loose Sections of the Rallycross Circuit at Mallory Park have been re-graded.
After the re-introduction of the British Rallycross Championship to Mallory Park which hosted the final round of the 2009 series, the circuit owners have today confirmed that all necessary re-grading of the loose sections have now been carried out successfully.
During last years return to the circuit some competitors were concerned regarding the suitability of the loose sections after damage to their cars became apparent, possibly due to the bumps and large stones after the circuit had been used for the first time in a major Rallycross event in 31 years.
The circuit owners have attempted previous repairs to the loose sections, which could not be completed in time for the scheduled but later cancelled LHMC Winter Series event on February 14, this was hampered further due to the intense cold snaps experienced over the winter break.
After a visit to the circuit by experienced groundwork company MD and Supercar racer Steve Hill of Steve Hill Construction Ltd advice was given to the circuit bosses of what developments were required to improve the unforgiving loose sections.
Steve Hill - "We spent some time covering all loose areas of the circuit and sample testing, we soon learned that the majority of the gravel areas needed completely re-grading from scratch. After a recent revisit to the circuit I can confirm the circuit have ticked every box on our suggestion list"
Hill added "Even with the bumps at last year's event, Mallory Park was a very fast and exciting Rallycross venue, I'm looking forward to sampling what I can only describe as a massive improvement and I hope we can keep Mallory on our calendar for many years to come and all competitors can bring their cars with confidence to round 5 on August 8th"

The extensive improvements carried out includes shallow concrete ramps to ease the transition between loose and tarmac, over 120 tons of large stones have been removed from the surface, the addition of fine material in braking and acceleration areas to tighten up the material, a concrete sub base added to the loose chicane to prevent rutting and constant heavy rolling to firm up and stabilise the newly graded loose section.
Competitors who have not yet entered round 5 of the MSA BRC can do so by submitting the entry form found on LHMC's webpage, closing date for entries is Wednesday 4 August.

The first round of the Open Championship suffered because of this in March. It would be a great shame to see the event on the 8th cancelled as it would be another blow to Rallycross. Having an insight into the events that led up to the March meeting being cancelled I don't blame drivers for waiting - the event will probably go ahead but whether the track is sorted - who knows.

This is starting to get on my wick! I've been really limited in the events I can get to this year and when I finally have the chance it looks like it could be cancelled or entries may suffer because of the track problems. I really hope they get this sorted, as the last thing the sport needs is another venue being moth balled. Apologies if I'm jumping the gun a bit, not like me to be pessimistic prefer to deal in hard facts, frustration getting the better of me.

Dont forget Drivers, if you enter, you can cancel your entry and get a full refund, same if any event is cancelled, a full refund is given. Your entry does help us organisers get things in place!!!

If you want to do it, then do it thats fine by me Jonny, but dont moan afterwards, after all you do it of your own free will nobody is forcing you to do this event.

Hey guys calm down a bit, any rallycross circuit is better than no rallycross circuit try living in the north east of England, give Mallory time to settle down a bit and I'm sure the sport will be better for it at the end of the day could even see some new Midlands based drivers hitting the tracks, more competitors must be a bonus to the future of the sport.

hi all, having been a keen fan of 10 tenths for a number of years i thought it about time i joined,
just to add to the discussion about mallory circuit, i took part in the event last year and came away with a car that was bent and twisted and with smashed suspension, i enjoyed the event and all the hype and felt privelleged to be part of the return to mallory after however many years.
However as a clubman competitor and with limited budget the cost of repairs to my car were something i could have really done without.
i hope for the sake of rallycross and the involvement of the clubman racer the repairs have been done to the track to a standard that cars are not gonna suffer the damage as they did last year.
Unfortunatley due to family commitments i won't be able to enter mallory on the 8th, so good luck to all that do .

Can we keep things civil please folks
It's good to have Mallory back in action as a Rallycross circuit, clearly there were teething problems but it sounds like plenty of work has been carried out to try and resolve the problems. I think it's only fair to give it a go and see what it's like now. What's Mallory like for spectating? It's not a circuit I've been to before.

Well said Bert. For any kind of racing it's pretty good as it's so compact. Because of the lake in the middle there are barriers on the inside so not as open as some, but not a major problem.
