Do GTCs get auto-invites for anything? That would make a big difference.

I thought P2 bodywork was homologated for the season.

Two bodywork homologations, one for Le Mans one for the rest of the season. That doesn't stop them testing bodywork for next year in private if they have the time, money and drivers.

I'm not quite sure how this works. Can a team run their own bodywork or do they have to run whatever the car's manufacturer homologated as being cost-capped?

They could talk to the manufacturer about re-homologating a couple of chassis in their own name and then continue development if everything stays under the cost cap for the price of the car.

The reports seem to suggest they're looking to do just that:

The team has also confirmed that they plan to homologate their Oreca chassis as an MG

Sorry if I've somehow missed this but this is news to me courtesy of Autosport magazine today.
Nicolas Minassian and Stephane Sarrazin are set to join Loeb Racing for their ELMS campaign this year alongside Nicolas Marroc.
They are in negotiations and apparently the deal hinges on a sponsorship deal which could apparently be concluded as early as this week.
Surely that propels them to resounding title favourites given the Oreca-Nissan package! Would be great to see this team continue to grow. It's not like they will ever have trouble getting a Le Mans entry and it is a team you'd like to think sponsors would want to be associated with.

Loeb's team aren't doing Le Mans, so perhaps no reason why he couldn't dovetail an ELMS programme with them alongside the Starworks drive?-
It puts Sarrazin in an interesting situation of being able to directly compare the Oreca-Nissan and HPD LMP2 packages though...
...and as Simmi said, the Sarrazin/Minassian/Marroc combination, puts Loeb firmly in the frame as probable ELMS frontrunners....

The basic livery looks a lot like the Pekaracing Corvette, but with red replacing the yellow.

that's correct.
I helped the team with the designs, and they wanted the PK Carsport design on all their cars.

That team seems to be quite confused!
Are ELMS GTC cars running spec tires or what?
