Modified Live at Oulton on the 16th

Hi everyone, it's that time of year again......time to build up those sweeping muscles!
If you've any questions regarding what's on at the event please ask....and yes, I think there's two trucks again.....

Hmmm... this will be my first event as a marshal and it sounds like I have picked one that is going to be busy! So, does a steep learning curve await?

I'll be there, my second event.

Seems pretty interesting, not a fan of the "drifting" always seems a very slow and overly-dramatic way to drive around a circuit but should be fun to watch regardless.

Not sure where I'd prefer to be stationed. Was at Lodge for the 2nd April event which got pretty much all of the incidents!

Judging by various photos from last year's event, the paddock is the place to be.....

I attended the first Modified Live at Oulton and I have done every year since.

When I first went I didn't think it would be my cup of tea because I am a mainly a circuit racing fan. However the different types of racing that takes place on the day is brilliant.

The demonstration laps are good as long as they don't crash and the 'Toyo twins' arnt bad either.

Doing this for the first time this year, yes, even after hearing about the truck mayhem!
I've marshalled at numerous sprints, so cars not 'racing' isn't new to me, and I'd hazzard a guess that most of the entrants will be packing substantially more BHP than a lot of the older classic stuff I'm used to seeing at sprints!

I think I had it all under control by the time the rest of you eventually arrived on the scene.

Hi Benj,

You are in the same boat that I was in last year. Modified Live was my first event, and I was wondering what to expect.

I was on Dear Leap with a great bunch of guys and had very little to do all day, still went home shattered though.

You will be under the guidance of another marshal, just follow his/her lead and have a great day.

I will be giving this one a miss this year, too many other events to fit in.

Cheers

Russell

Unfortunately I can't do this one (in the middle of ripping out/refurbing our bathroom), but looking at it, I kinda wish I was doing now. Think I'll have to mark it on my list for next year! Hope you don't get any more truck antics again this year!!

I think it's a couple of different guys this year, no need to say their briefing will be errr.....thorough.
