Family free something or other this weekend, I think they said, great turnout. Marks to Wickens for his pole position. High performance there yet again, from young Rossi, good on him. These cars on that track, fabulous, and another one tomorrow.

Agree with Bella, Panciatici drove a lovely calm race.
In answer to the comment about the circuit, it's the ebb and flow that i feel's so good, a lovely place to see racing cars going around.
However it's difficult to design anything these days that will give us overtaking lap after lap unfortunately. but this place certainly looks like more of a classic circuit venue than a modern jobby.
Anyone think Van Der Drift drove an ok race? Kept out of trouble which was one thing as he is quite a feisty racer, and other than Vergne and I think Oli Webb was one of the drivers to make up most places.
Worrying for Hartley, for someone who looked quite at home in GP2 towards the end of last season, he seems to have gone back to his wild ways in 3.5. Early days yet though I guess.

good to see hartley up there being a bit more like himself, and yet again great drives from panciatici and move. bring it on!

Not sure there were any, much more processional today than Race 1, the pitstops made a difference. Hard lines Carlin in the pitbox, fast lap from Wickens right up until his pitstop and a wheelnut gets the better of it. Oh well, points in the bag.
Good race there from Korjus, holding-off Rossi all day long, it didn't look easy. Well done.

Indeed, a good weekend for Wickens. Shame about the wheel nut in race 2 as he could have possibly got on the podium or at least 4th place overall. Race 1 he had a bit of bad luck too going into the first corner and then well Rossi just ran away from the field as we know. Still early days, he took some good points away from the opening round this weekend and thats what counts. Rossi looks as though he will be tough to beat though if the first round is anything to go by.

Canamasas apparently a bit of a surprise. 4th in Q1, then I thought it was buisness as usual for Q2 as 23rd. However just heard that he was on pole until change to new slicks mid session when his car had a failure so he did not do a new tyre run. 2nd race also 23rd to 10th was a good effort. Wonder if his new found performance will continue at Spa.

canamasas is another one of those who have produced a grand total of not very many results in other racing so it's difficult to say isn't it? it'll be interesting to see if he can continue to make zampieri look slow.

After having tested endlessly for ISR during the winter (and racing for them once last year) I wondered how Rossi would adapt to a new team environment, but he seems to have hit the sweet spot with the Fortec machine. Together with Ramos, Fortec have the potential to cause Wickens, Vergne, Ricciardo etc. a lot of problems this year and you have to say that on the back of his weekend performance, Rossi is well in with a shout of the title too.
Obviously missing the Friday running didn't help, but Vergne had a bit of a quiet weekend all in all. Still, he was one of only four drivers to score in both races and will surely be much stronger at Spa next time. And what can you say about Kevin Korjus. I thought it might take two or three rounds before he was fully up to speed but obviously not! At just 18 he has a huge future ahead of him and as long as he is carefully groomed by Gravity Sport Management then the possibilities for him seem endless. Maybe even the first Estonian F1 driver in three or four years time??

yeah, i think korjus is a bit special too. not only did he get the lead, he kept it and didn't look like he wobbled once. he was really good in the eurocup last year too. there's four estonian drivers (at least) in world series by renault series at the moment which is quite something for such a small country.
it'll be interesting to see if rossi can do as well in the sunday race at spa as he did in the saturday race at motorland, if that makes sense. there definitely seem to be drivers who are better at handling the low downforce cars than the standard configuration. i think he's going to be much more consistent than ramos though.
