Thanks to all in orange who stayed for a very long and boiling hot day, at least I could climb into shade for most of it, you have my admiration for staying on post for so long in that heat. Hope the last Sunbeam race helped make it worthwhile, I gather it was a close battle for the lead, I had a great time keeping the purple Alpine at bay for a while but it couldn't last. At least I secured the car's 50th (and 51st) chequered flags and a class win. Thanks again from the Sunbeam racers.

Had a great day on Sunday. Very sweaty by the end and the early finish was welcomed by all on post 17. The only downside was that the bacon butties promised were not forthcoming :*(

Yes, In Saturdays last race (3 hours from 16:50), a N24 managed to lose it coming down the Craner Curves, ended up rolling in the gravel and coming to rest against the tyre wall, by the time the car was recovered and the tyre wall / conveyor belt repaired it was decided to run the race on the Sunday morning instead.

Now that would be telling
They were already down for a 90 minute race, they changed that into a 2 hour one.

This was my first time at Donington, and having read the comments made by some about this meeting, I was not sure that I would enjoy this one.
How wrong could I be. I had an excellent day on post 6. A nice quiet day watching the racing was only interrupted by one driver pulling off between posts 5 and 6 and looked like he would require a push, only to restart and rejoin the race by the time we got there.
Thanks to all the guys on post 6.
Russell
