I do wish that Caterham would announce Petrov in the car, its getting boring now. It seems obvious (to me at least) that they don't want Trulli anymore.

the test days nobster mentioned before do show an interesting balance: heikki has days 1&2, van der garde has day 3 and trulli has day 4. surely if they had a more experienced driver like jarno on board *because* of his experience they'd want him to have more time in the car?

Ostrogothicus should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Just seen on Twitter a journalist called Jordan Irvine (@IrvineF1) tweeted that Pic could have sponsor issues an his drive may be in doubt.
Marussia tweeted back saying "No such worries".

Just wondering who Pic is sponsored by and whether this "issue" may have a grain of truth?

Pic’s family owns a haulage business called Groupe Charles Andre, which transports Elf petrol around France, so I'd imagine that's where at least a chunk of his backing is coming from.

Interesting, I would have thought that Marussia would be quite keen to elbow Pic out if Petrov could join them.

Petrov announced.........Trulli out........very shrewd move by Tony.......he will now sell a ship load of caterhams in Russia for sure........its a massive growth market for all auto manufacturers.

Exactly, made sense. Trulli was beyond pathetic last season too.

It's clear by moving MG out of the way in the design office too & ditching Trulli, Tony was serious about success now the first two seasons are out of the way.

Interesting to see how they develop going-forward with Mark Smith, Petrov and Heikki...

literally just spat diet coke all over my computer at this tweet from adam hay-nicholls:

"Petrov was also in talks with Ferrari over 3rd seat. If he beats @H_Kovalainen this year, he's in with a shot at Massa's seat. Won't be easy"

wtf?? but that's an interesting thought considering his adu dhabi '10 drive in which he held off alonso...

I guess it took longer to sort out the paper work but I said a couple of times on this board that Petrov had signed. Sorry Trulli and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. That was funny by the way.

Yes, I recall you did post just that and you were largely ignored.

Full marks for your accuracy and for having the guts to post what you did at the time, in advance of the official announcement.

Charles Pic, been in GP2 for the last couple of years, done alright in it. Marussia's 2nd driver for 2012, let's see if he can stand up to the Glock.
