2012 Bet 'Em IndyContest - Texas round 7
Hello, folks! Welcome to the Texas round 7 of the 2012 Bet 'Em IndyContest. This is the single cookie-cutter race of the season, and the first after Las Vegas.
You must pick six different drivers for the six bets:
o- Polesitter ($ 300)
o- Fast Six ($ 100)
o- Win ($ 1,000)
o- Podium ($ 300)
o- Top 5 ($ 100)
o- Top 10 ($ 30).
The stakes for Texas are:
o- 2 to 1: Briscoe, Castroneves, Dixon, Franchitti.
o- 5 to 1: Hunter-Reay, Hinchcliffe, Kanaan, Power, Rahal, Sato.
o- 10 to 1: Andretti, Barrichello, Hildebrand, Pagenaud, Serviΰ.
o- 20 to 1: Carpenter, Kimball, Tagliani, Viso, Wilson.
o- 50 to 1: Bourdais, Figueiredo, Filippi, Jakes, Newgarden.
o- 100 to 1: Conway, De Silvestro, Legge, Saavedra.
Current standings after round 6:
1st - Daisy: $ 38,500
2nd - Mythoughtsareracing: $ 25,540
3rd - WAT: $ 23,000
4th - NaBUru38: $ 18,400
5th - Marcostraz: $ 14,110
6th - Chiana: $ 5,400
7th - Flyin Ryan: $ 2,900
8th - Barnett: $ 2,400

o- Fast Six: Tagliani (20 to 1), Franchitti (2 to 1), Rahal (5 to 1), Dixon (2 to 1), Power (5 to 1), Hinchcliffe (5 to 1)
o- Win: Wilson (20 to 1)
o- Podium: Wilson (20 to 1), Rahal (5 to 1), Briscoe (2 to 1)
o- Top 5: Wilson (20 to 1), Rahal (5 to 1), Briscoe (2 to 1), Hinchcliffe (5 to 1), Hildebrand (10 to 1)
o- Top 10: Wilson (20 to 1), Rahal (5 to 1), Briscoe (2 to 1), Hinchcliffe (5 to 1), Hildebrand (10 to 1), Pagenaud (10 to 1), Castroneves (2 to 1), Power (5 to 1), Tagliani (20 to 1), Jakes (50 to 1)
The optimal bets were Tagliani for the pole and $ 6,000, Power / Hinchcliffe for the Fast Six and $ 500, Wilson for the win and $ 20,000, Rahal for the podium and $ 1,500, Hildebrand for the top 5 and 1,000, and Jakes for the top 10 and $ 1,500, totalling an unlikely high $ 30,500.
Nobody picked Tagliani for the pole. Only Daisy and Gameofguts21 hitted the Fast Six: Hinchcliffe for $ 500. Nobody picked Wilson for the win, or any of the race bets. Nobody picked Rahal or Briscoe for the podium either. Mythoughtsareracing, NaBUru38 and HaydenFan chose Hinchcliffe for the top 5 and earned $ 500, whereas Marcostraz went for rahal and alse got $ 500. Only Marcostraz chose correctly a top 10 finisher: Briscoe for merely $ 60.
So here's the 2012 Bet'Em IndyContest results at Texas.
1st - Marcostraz: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 500 + 60 = 560
2nd - Daisy: 0 + 500 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 500
2nd - Gameofguts21: 0 + 500 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 500
2nd - Mythoughtsareracing: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 500 + 0 + 500
2nd - NaBUru38: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 500 + 0 = 500
2nd - HaydenFan: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 500 + 0 = 500
7th - WAT: 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 0
Too many bets on the Ganassis paid very badly. Marcostraz hitting Jakes' first top 10 finish in his IndyCar career gave him the win. WAT again failed to score. Meanwhile, the rest of just just earned $ 500
